I was excited about page two until i saw it was just minkagirl being an annoying asshole.
I went out and fished near the New Light bridge Sunday morning. Caught some crappie and a ton of little white perch tightlining minnows near a cove. Went home early because of the wind and the perch were stealing all of my bait. Tried trolling for some white bass but couldnt find them, I imagine they are on there way up to the eno, should start heating up end of this week and next week. 3/5/2012 2:03:48 PM |

Nice carp! Thanks for the update on the Eno. Didn't end up going, gf got real drunk & I had to take care of my boo.
I'm putting together a deep drop party for this.may/June out of.Oregon Inlet. ~175 ish per person if I can find another 3 to join my party of 3. I've never fished deeper than 300 ft and would love to catch some Tilefish & Snowy grouper. I hear the bite is more or less instant if the capt knows what he's doing. It's only an 8hr trip though. Also, they aren't using electric reels so you do get to fight. Only a 90 min run to the grounds, so still plenty of fishing time. At 300-600ft of manual cranking, its got to be killer.
I would love to try the 1000ft+ drops just to see what one catches. So many unique & huge fish in the deep waters. I just imagine the electric reels get boring especially since the fish bloats and basically dies after you get them up a few hundred feet off the bottom. Anyone got a 35' contender with triple 300 4 strokes I can borrow forever? 3/5/2012 5:40:37 PM |

Went offshore on Monday after getting reports of bluefins and yellowfins jumping in the boat; What a difference a day makes because we didn't have a bite all day. The tide was screaming so that messed up all the water.

Going to be heading out to Jordan lake now that I live in Durham. I dont have a boat or anything, so does anybody have any advice for bank or pier (if there are any) out there? I mainly do salt water fishing, but since I wont be able to get down to the coast as much this summer I wanna start fresh water fishing more 3/17/2012 4:41:09 PM |

Went out Sunday to Falls Lake for some crappie fishing. Spider rigged minnows 2-5 ft deep in 5-10 FOW and caught at least 60 crappie, 2 white bass, 4 catfish, 3 white perch and 2 largemouth. Took home 6 nice crappie, the white bass and the white perch. Falls Lake is on fire right now. The water temps were up over 70, so get out there quick before the spawn is over and they move back deep. 3/20/2012 12:41:47 PM |

meh, I have taken canoes out on Jordan, there are several options. Launch up in the river area, go to roberson creek area that is no motors, launch up at farrington and there is a bunch of canoe friendly water, or just stay close to the shore. I went out to the 64 bridge many times to crappie fish last winter and it wasnt a problem and have been on the main channel canoeing from the campgrounds during the summer. The only reason i wouldnt head out in a canoe was if the winds were 15mph or higher, but that is true for any body of water.
BHS, I went out Friday to the Eno after you posted that you had caught some. Fished from the Redmill ramp all the way to the RR tressle and did not catch a thing (edit: caught many tree branches and donated several new rooster tails and jigs to the river). Saw 8 other boats and only 1 fish caught between them. Tough fishing up there lately. As crowded as it is, I might just skip the WB fishing in the Eno this year. I had a nice gentleman in a center console give me the rundown on how and where to catch them the rest of the year in the main lake, so i may just stick to that. They are some delicious fish. 3/20/2012 12:56:45 PM |

o dude friday and saturday was toast for WB fishing
i caught one total, nobody was catching fish but they were there, they were definitely off the bite after the little rain in the middle of the week
im goin to try the haw near 64 next week at some point, i agree the eno i just have no room to operate with all the people. at least at the haw most people are just gonna fish jordan anyway

yea, me and my fishing buddy caught 3 reds of exact same size at the same spot that night. If the markings on the fish weren't different, I could have sworn it's the same fish that took our bait thrice. 3/22/2012 9:35:22 PM |

Went out of Cape Canaveral today. Pretty slow on the bite, I caught a few smaller red snapper & some larger sea bass but you can't keep em. One of the mates had out a driftline for a king mackerel. When it took off the mate asked me to take it. Ended up being ~25lb King. The boat also brought in around a dozen massive red snappers. The big one in the pictures was 32lbs. Never seen them get that big.

Hmm, maybe a perch/bream hybrid or someone let loose their aquarium fish. I've heard of Oscars and Snakeheads wiping out ecosystems. Cool catch, may want to report that to the fisheries dept 3/27/2012 7:03:07 PM |
