Seriously. I understand that TSB is the bastion of free speech here on TWW, but pack_bryan is just being purposefully ignorant and is ruining a lot of good conversations in the process. How often do SB people complain about others? Not that often. How many people have complained about this guy? A fucking ton. And it's not just one group of users either. Pretty much everyone from all over the political spectrum want him canned.

I don't think he's done anything worthy of suspension. Yet. He will if he stays on here for a while, though. That's a damn fact. Several of you have already pointed out that he's being obnoxious for the sake of being obnoxious; that type can't stay in the safe zone forever. He'll either get bored or tempted to push the limits until he's banned.

If you banned him tomorrow, I wouldn't say boo. He's an ass and the outcome is inevitable anyway. For the time being, he's easily enough ignored. So I also won't called for him to get the hammer.

Duke's doing a good job towing the line between "tyranny of the majority" and "so obsessed with freedom of speech that you can advocate hate crime." I got no qualms.

while i agree that he does seem to enjoy getting people riled up, it is my impression that he actually believes what he says. if he starts caring more about riling people up rather than stating his point of view, then his presence will be less tolerated. many before him have eventually crossed this threshold and were dismissed, so i will not be surprised if it happens at some point.

^ exactly. he was allowed to express his views for a long time, but eventually people started ignoring him. and when he continued to post his views repeatedly without others engaging in the conversation, it became disruptive and he was eventually suspended.

He was an order of magnitude worse in every way. Stupidity, offensiveness, irritation, and sheer volume of posting...and I didn't suspend him for a long, long, time...and, in fact, suspended numerous other posters for throwing disruptive shit fits over the fact that I wouldn't suspend him (permanently). We even had a gentleman's agreement on how many threads he could create, and what other threads he could post in (and if he fucked that up, I'd can him for a little while). In the end, I think it was some Nazi-sympathizing stuff that did him in, right? I probably wouldn't have suspended for that in and of itself, but the slack in his rope had long since been exhausted.

I think everyone would admit that insults are fairly common in TSB, but not to this level. This is all he does.

He voices an opinion (who knows if that is how he really feels) that is valid, you have to know there are people in this country that act worse than that. He is crudely expressing that opinion, but he wasn't really attacking you personally. It is not fun to be called names, but just get some tougher skin and don't engage him. He didn't threaten you or your family, don't sweat him.

2) Temporarily suspend him
or
3) Ban the shit out of him which I admit is what I would like to see the most.

ok jk, but I do read TSB actually, I have only posted very rarely because people usually ignore me or rag me for not reading something. I read it regularly because I can get access to a lot of campaign info quickly, and there are a few opinions that I respect/make sense to me and make me think differently about a subject I thought I already had an opinion on. When my personal opinion is clearly represented I don't post so I don't muddle the conversation at hand. I also find the people left posting in TSB to be totally unwilling to listen to an opinion that discredits their own. A lot of the posters are unwilling to reason with an opinion associated with another view point, so in that scenario, it makes it pointless for me to try if I disagree with them.

I get what you are saying, I think that it runs off a lot of people who just want a real, mature discussion that basically nitpicks to find any holes or new things. Yea, pack bryan as a whole probably keeps people from wanting to post in TSB.

The only point I was trying to make was that what he is doing is not grounds for banning, I am not sure if something else might not alleviate the problem though.
