We don't need Maryland to beat unc. If we beat UVA then we are on the bubble and beating UNC would put us in as a lock but if we don't get to play unc and beat maryland then lose to duke then we are still on the bubble.

i would think a win vs duke or a win vs UNC would be the same, considering their similar ranking, but I'll admit I don't know a ton about this stuff. I just want us to win. I don't care that much who we beat.

I don't know about that but I do find myself wondering what this year's annoying NCAA tournament commercial will be. You know the one that plays at least once per commercial break, maybe twice per break... and if someone gets fouled within 5 seconds of resuming play after a commercial... that's right, right back to a commercial break featuring that s a m e commercial.

We can beat UNC. Odds are Marshall will not shoot like that again, and we did a good job of shuting down Zeller and quasi-shutting down Henson (comparatively speaking)

16 seeds can beat 1 seeds, too.

Doesnt make it probable. And if we leave KM all alone on the perimeter again chances are he WILL shoot like that. He's a d-1 guard. They tend to make uncontested 20 footers.

I ABSOLUTELY want MD to beat UNC. Aside from the sheer joy of them losing in their first game of the tourney, we have a much better shot at beating MD. We can still up our SOS by beating BC->UVA->MD and losing to Duke in the finals, rather than just losing to UNC in the semis.

(I understand how far fetched all of this is)

I'm not even looking to UNC or MD. We could easily lose to either of those teams, because we're NC State. First, we need to not fuck it up against BC. And then we can see if we can get past Virginia. It's certainly doable, but it's not going to be a cake walk into Saturday.

I don't understand people just looking past UVA. They beat us at home, they have agruably the best player in the league coming off the best game of his career, and they get to play us well rested. We will need to play very well to just beat UVA.

As for UNC vs GT/UMD, we should all pull for UNC to lose in order to help us potentially get to the finals. If we make it to Sunday regardless of path, we should get an NCAA invite.
