"what year was this? upper intramural fields?"

Don't remember what fields, but it was probably 2000-2001 or so. Maybe 2002?

"How did that happen? Pitching + line drive to dome piece? Catching + foul tip?"

No, I was the 3rd baseman, and someone hit an infield pop-up. I called it and came sprinting in for the catch, but the catcher either somehow didn't hear me call it or hadn't played much baseball to know how that deal worked. I was looking up high and in a sprint, and just as I made the catch, we hit each other. I never even saw him.

I remember falling down, holding the ball up to show the ump that I'd held on to the catch, and then trying to walk it off. I ended up just walking in a circle and falling back down a couple of times, and then I agreed to sit out and let someone sub in for me. The last thing I remember was sitting on the bench...then I woke up laying in the grass.

ok... i remember seeing an ambulance come to the intramural fields (I took a picture of it but I can't find it)... I think this was more towards 2004 though because I had already graduated.

Twice.

1) Got thrown up on the hood of a car when i was 9, in Ocean City, NJ. Driver was going 45 in a 25 and struck me
off my bike. Bike was totaled but I walked away with a sprained ankle.

2) My little sister had her first seizure when she was 2-3 years old and I rode with her to the hospital.
Was able to keep her airway clear and my grandmother from totally flipping out before EMS came.

I'm sure I'll be in them more,or receiving people out of them, as I look at ER/flight nursing as a future specialty.

Feet were still in the board. Tried to grab the tower but the water dragged me under. Would not have happened if i was not strapped in.

^^Really didnt start hurting until I was at the hospital. I just gingerly took the board off my feet and hopped in. I was more upset that she destroyed my brand new $150 rope than anything. Still don't have a new rope either.

Had to call an amberlance for my roommate. He slipped and fell in the shower, luckily I heard it because he did some serious damage to his person.

Had to see him naked though, and that was kinda weird.

couple of times

shared one with my dad while he was having chest pain from his epi pen injection and i had a sprained ankle.

other time was on a job interview with lifeflight

suspect i will be in one a few more times for EMT clinicals

sure do wish we had been dispatched somewhere during my lifeflight fly-a-long. It ended up being a 12 hour sit-a-long.

I was in an amberlamps once. It was during one of those field days in elementary school when you learn about different jobs. It was cool, but not as cool as the firetruck with the hose that took 5 kids plus one fireman to hold.
It's still cool when I get to open up a big hose on a fire.

Had my first ride in one a couple of days ago. Though it wasn't for me, it was for my 5 year old son. He and his brother were playing in their room and they decided they were going to make a hammock. The decided to tie one end to their dresser and it ended up falling down and practically scalping the left side of his head. Nothing like hearing the scream and running upstairs to see his skull exposed and the little artery in the temple squirting blood like some bad action movie.

Your kid is HARDCORE!

But man, that's flippin' crazy. As a parent, you just go on auto-pilot when your kid does something like that.

I was completely blackout drunk, I have no recollection, woke up in the ER and for a few seconds thought I was in jail.

I had some abdominal pains and felt sweaty while I was at a restaurant in late 2010, so I went to the restroom and had a large, soft stool; then I started feeling thumpings starting at the top of my head, around the whorl, and going down to the rest of the body, and I felt even worse abdominal pain and shortness of breath and needed to lie down. Then I rested for about half an hour until I was able to crawl out of the restroom and up to my table, but I couldn't sit up or walk for more than a few seconds, so despite my repeated protests that I would be just fine in several minutes (this type of episode had occurred, in varying severities, about 7 times in the previous 4 years, and twice since then), and probably because the restaurant was closed by then, they called an ambulance. When I got there, I learned what I had long feared (but was afraid to pay to find out) given my BMI and family history: diabeetus

Only once fortunately. Badly broken leg. You could see the broken bone which was barely under the surface of the skin. Ended up being a broken tibia and fibula. They put my leg in this thing that inflated like a balloon, put me on a stretcher, and took me to the ER. The doc said there was no way I would have made it without the bone coming through the skin if anyone had tried to move me before the paramedics got there, so it was the right call.

once (in grad school) after an NC State football game we were packing up our tailgate to go... well i had a handle of vodka and sprite mixed in a 2 liter (yes, clear liquors are for rich women on diets)... about half of it was left. the driver of the car i was riding in didn't want to take it because it was an open container, so my drunk ass decided to CHUG about 75% of what was left. On the way home i got progressively more drunk... i was hanging out of the car by Western Blvd, and then I actually fell out of the car on Avent Ferry (on purpose... my hat flew off... had to retrieve it.)

Well, by the time i got to my apartment (off gorman) my friends dragged me up to my apartment and left me with a dog bowl to puke in if I had to. After a few minutes I decided I wasn't ready to pass out, so I got up and left my apartment, and started to walk down to the girl's apartment who dropped me off. Halfway there I had to pee, so I unzipped beside a dumpster in a natural area, but my balance didn't work out and I fell face down into the wood chips. (this is broad daylight)

next thing I know, the paramedics are there smacking me in the face to wake me up. It was the quickest sober-up job I have ever done... i came to, (and began to hit on the female paramedic, which was funny because my junk was still half out from before) and was able to stand and walk back to my place on my own. I wasn't transported, but I probably did have alcohol poisoning... I was thankful to my friends for A. putting up with my drunk ass and B. calling the paramedics to make sure I was ok.

tl;dr
once i got really drunk and almost went with the paramedics.
