Sorry was in DC this weekend for the Reason Rally.

I don't have "faith" that government will do good things. I prefer government to the city-states of history. Government and regulations appeared as a response to barbarism. Yes, they can and are abusive. They're not perfect. But they are demonstrably better than anarchy for the constituents involved. Maybe I haven't read the anarcho-capitalist books that prove a free-market system would work when humans are in your word "inherently flawed and self-serving" but I'm currently unconvinced.
