It was pretty good but I wasn't that happy with the ending.

Aang showing up add deus ex machina-ing his way to a sappy, sugary ending was a disappointment. Korra has all her bending back, everyone who got de-bent gets their powers back, she can enter the avatar state at will, and she ends up with the handsome dude with no personality she's liked from the beginning.

What should have happened was Aang showing up and ADVISING her on what she needs to do in order to gain the rest of her bending back. Then the next season she could retrace Aang's journey across the world and unlock her abilities one by one.

Now I don't see anything left that's a credible threat to her unless they go all spirit world war in Season 2, and that would probably be lame.

I just finished watching it all. Do you think with the rift between the benders and non-benders that will be the reason for the story arc next season? The benders pissed over losing their powers and once they get them back they seek revenge? Maybe it's about the technology and how it's progressed so they don't need benders to power the machines anymore and where an Avatar fits into a world like that?

I'd kinda like to see them journey around and visit folks and places from the previous series.

I will agree that the episode seemed to fix things too quickly. Maybe they were trying not to start off like the previous series and move at a snail's pace.

Books 3 & 4 order confirmed by Nick. A total of 52 episodes (including the ones already played) are slated for Korra now.

I think I like this series better on a per-episode basis.

Also the 1920s New York merged with Hong Kong setting is pretty unique, and I enjoy it.

This season was epic, best season of any Avatar show yet. Lot more death than I was expecting.

Spoilers for the series finale

Wow, I thought a muder suicide was ballsy for a kids show, they end the series with a lesbian romance. Season 4 wasn't as good as season 3, but it was a satisfying ending. I hope that's not the last we ever see of this world.

End spoilers

Hopefully it isn't, but we likely won't see anything for a very long time. The creative duo behind this show have said that they've worked on the Avatar universe for nearly a decade now and want to go work on something else for a while. But I've also heard that Nickelodeon has dicked them over a few times already (e.g. shuffling the show's schedule around constantly). Apparently that's why they went with the ending that they did; it was a farewell middle finger to Nick.
