I got an MS in Math at UNCW last fall, and I am still looking for work in data programming or statistics. The problem is I only have about a year of experience from an internship and no one seems to be hiring entry-level right now.

are you open to relocation? seems like graduate math/statistics is in really high demand

one of the biggest buzzwords right now is Big Data and those skills fall right into that

Yeesh - There are still people just saying "I need a job in XXX, let me know if you have any contacts". It's just too vague for this.

A good job search starts with target companies. You don't always need to know someone in your field to get your foot in the door at a company. Please make a list of target companies that you'd like to work at and ask us if we have contacts at some of them!

I've applied to most of them, but they seem to only hire people with experience.

Anyone ever worked for John Deere or know someone who has? I've been applying for some positions there, and am curious what their thoughts are as far as working for them.

Does anyone work for/have contacts to McKinney Advertising in Durham? Their website says they are looking for Analysts.

I am currently in the Masters of Analytics program at State and have other relevant experience that would make me a good candidate. Looking for someone to get my resume pushed to the right people.

Hey bud, my dad works at Grifols in Clayton. He says they are constantly hiring and training people. He works as a mechanic fixing their filling machines. He says its incredibly GLP, GMP type stuff. Let me know if you would be interested and meanwhile, I'll talk to my dad to see what he can do for you.

How do you like big companies comparing with small ones? I prefer big ones because they treat foreign workers better, give me working authorization quicker. But it also depends. My friend tries to jump out of Intel because they haven't started process his application so far.

my company is looking for someone with structural engineering experience (primarily residential for this particular position), if anyone is interested or knows someone who is. They need to be proficient with autocad and experience with the wall bracing requirements from the 2012 NC Residential Code is a huge plus

If you have a BS in biology or something similar, a buddy of mine told me they are looking for a lab tech in his lab. You would be doing sample prep for DNA analysis, DNA assay, etc. It's entry level but they'd at least like to see you did some lab work at an internship or something. If interested, PM me and I'll get some contact info for you.

My good buddy who owns PeopleMatter just sent me this:

"Looking for inside software sales manager (SaaS software sales management experience a must) to manage sales team in our CHS office. Send me a message with any referrals or recommendations. Great position!"

I've already gotten a few people a job with his company and they are loving it. Holla at me if you think you qualify.

I am looking for a new grad nursing position in either critical care or med/surg come June/July 2012. I'll have my BSN and license by then.

Barring that, I have 6+ years being a biology lab manager and doing tech-level benchwork if the whole nursing thing doesn't work out and you want to hire me

Looking for any leads on design and/or 3D animation/modeling jobs in and around Raleigh. I'd love to get into the gaming industry, but I don't have any experience with shipped titles, which seems to be a prerequisite at most places. BA in Art and Design from NCSU.

Oh man I forgot about this thread--looking for entry-level jobs in technical writing, copy editing, editorial work (in general), advertising, marketing/communication... yeah basically anything vaguely related. Paid internships are also an option, just looking to break into a company in the area.

(EDIT: But yeah, if you have a contact in technical writing that would be the most ideal.)

I'm looking for contacts at local television stations for off-camera work: web editing, assignment desk, digital media, entry level production, etc.

Also interested in contacts for entry-level meteorology jobs.
