it's a few years old now so i don't remember exactly what all of the specs are unfortunately. the best i can do is that it is a custom built desktop with an i7, 12GB of RAM, 2GB nvidia card, 500gb raptor HDD in RAID and Win7. it was built as a strict gaming PC (around $1500-1600 at the time) and has been used as such since then. 6/24/2014 11:06:55 AM |

Yeah your performance is going to be highly dependant on:
That's almost any range of cards out today.6/24/2014 11:20:14 AM |

doing some detective work i was mistaken. i knew what it looked like and the brand name so i found it. the video card is a 1GB MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127594
i have it overclocked some but that's prob still my limiting factor now that i think about it.

Oh wow yeah only 1GB. That's going to be your limiting factor. Watch Dogs is pretty vram intensive.
Reviews are saying it requires 3GB or more on Ultra. I've seen it go over 2.5GB on my card (580 GTX 3GB).
Download something like gpuz to monitor your vram usage. This will be directly tied to the 'texture' setting in display.
According to Nvidia:

Your card should have textures set to medium. Check out the other setting recommendations as well. If it's still stuttering at medium then turn it to low. I'd also think about upgrading that video card. 1GB is pretty low these days for games depending on the resolution you're running. 6/24/2014 12:26:17 PM |

sweet, thanks. i'll be sure to look into all this after work later.
it's been playing other games great which is what threw me some. like Wolfenstein i maxed out all gfx settings and not a single stutter or slowdown, even after hours of playing. but this game just seems to be more resource-hogging so i'll have to do what i can. 6/24/2014 12:33:47 PM |

Yeah depends on the game. Some engines are more optimized than others and some games have more detailed textures. Wolfenstein uses what it has available I believe. It used over 2GB on mine I believe.
This gives you an idea of what you're getting with more vram:
Medium versus Ultra:

Look at the two trucks on the right and the left as well as the ground as you shift it.
