Saying the Democrats and Republicans are the same is just something outsiders say for attention. There are big differences.

The number of parties you have is not a big deal. With only two parties, they both end up having their own internal coalitions on the various issues.

I think it works out better because the issues aren't out in the open as much so they get apportioned the proper amount of attention. The party as a whole gets to behave more rationally and isn't forced to tow some ridiculous party line.

Third parties would be completely owned by the interest groups that spawned them, that's NOT good for the public as a whole.

Here in China, they have only ONE party. Within that party they have all the same divisions and debates any other government has, it's just not open for public scrutiny and manipulation by corporations or foreigners.

He probably aligns well with a number of '92 Republicans.

Unless you live in Ohio or Florida, your vote will be completely meaningless anyway so you might as well vote for Stein to help send a message that people are fed up with both parties.

Apparently none of the candidates really strike my fancy, which sounds about right.

Quote :
"Formerly a member of the Democratic Party, Anderson expressed his disappointment with that Party in 2011,[17] stating “(t)he Constitution has been eviscerated while Democrats have stood by with nary a whimper. It is a gutless, unprincipled party, bought and paid for by the same interests that buy and pay for the Republican Party."[18] Anderson announced his intention to run for President in 2012 as a candidate for the newly-formed Justice Party.[19]"

I'm liking this Rocky Anderson guy though.

jcgolden, the lack of openness to public scrutiny of the Communist (In Name Only) Party is a problem; also, the emergence of internal coalitions is a property of any large party, even in systems like proportional representation that promote more than two stable national parties.

also I mean there's no way the West would block a website for saying something like this: 天安门导致法轮功
