He's probably the school's 4th best QB ever behind PR, RW, and Gabriel.

Throws for 400+ yards and 4 TDs and still gets shitted on. I guess some people enjoyed Marcus Stone.

4.7 yards per pass.

it took us starting on the 40 yard line and two fourth down conversions to score. If one of those conversions doesn't occur, or we get normal field position to start with we likely walk away with 10 points on the scoreboard, blowing one of the most winnable games vs a top 5 team ever.

It's easy to be results oriented and say we won. And that's great that we won. But we aren't going to win a lot of games with the offense playing like that.

its not glennons fault our offensive line, running bakcs and receivers are not very good. some of them are average but we have no standouts on offense.

Not hating. It's a team sport. Our defense kept us in it and our special teams put us in position to win at the end. Glennon led a clutch TD drive which helps offset his otherwise shaky game. Great victory.

Now we just have to win out. That's going to be tough. Wish we'd beaten Miami so we could possibly shake off a loss @Clemson.

I don't post much but I read daily... and face you are dumb. Kudos to Glennon. He overcomes adversity after a loss that crushed the team and fans. He calls a player meeting a leads us to a win in the fourth quarter over the top rated defense in college football the following weekend. At the end of the day Glennon did that regardless of how "ugly" it was. He drives me crazy with his 3rd and 4th! down checkdowns, but these are the types of games that can give a player like him confidence to be Great. No question that he has the arm and surprisingly is showing some pocket awareness. However, as far as this thread goes he needs an exceptional second half of the season to even be considered for Heisman.

lets not forget that without our defense stonewalling FSU time and time again (including a monster sack to take them out of FG range) that Glennon never even gets an opportunity to win this game because he played poorly.

It is glennon's fault when he throws it 6 yards on fourth and 10, when there was a receiver wide open in the middle of the field 10+ yards away and running towards the endzone.

So you would take Jamie Barnette over an NFL QB? Ok. Please tell us less. Barnette had a ton of heart and was a steady player, but without Torry Holt, he suffered his senior year.

I loved me some Barnette...seriously. I was a tyke and grew up on the Geoff Bender/Terry Harvey/Shane Montgomery types...but Barnette was my first "favorite QB" at State...but that guy basically just threw the ball up to Holt for the majority of his career. He did some great scrambling, took some beatings, and was a good football player...but Holt made him a lot better.

Tough to know where to put Glennon because we've only have two years body of work and State actually has a pretty decent QB history. But he's pretty good.

In all honesty I do feel bad for Glennon. He's had a really tough career.

First of all the expectations coming out of HS when you're being compared to Andrew Luck or in college being compared to Matt Ryan before you've had your first start are crazy to live up to.

Then you have to watch from the sidelines as some no name emerges to take your starting spot.

On top of that you have to replace a living legend under the difficult circumstances of "its either him or me" which obviously opens you up to a lot more pressure than just assuming the starting role naturally.

Then all the disappointment of the way last season went for him.

Then this year he can't get things on track all season and when he finally does the coaching staff neuters him and his receivers completely blow what would have been a statistical performance for the ages.

Now he's still really got no legacy as an NC State QB. This was going to be what he was remembered for. A 500+ yard, 6 TD performance to lead us to our 6th and final consecutive victory over UNC.

Now his legacy is a good comeback vs a 2-9 Maryland team to make us bowl eligible... Ew.

He's had a lot of tough breaks really. College careers don't always go the way people would like. I remember that interview where he talked about how disappointed he was that he had an abbreviated career but that he was looking forward to getting going because two years was still enough time to accomplish big things and win a lot of games. Sadly, it wasn't. And today wasn't really fair to him. For all the bad breaks he's had in his career, today was his day to shine and his receivers and coaches took that away from him.

Glennon connected on 20 of his first 29 passes and finished the night with five completions of 30-plus yards. Most impressively, he hit 10 different receivers and showed his capacity to make every throw in the book from the pocket. Charting Glennon's throws, I noticed that while he worked every area of the field, he was particularly effective in the 10- to 15-yard void between the hashes, repeatedly hitting receivers on the move on an assortment of crossing routes and square-ins over the middle. Although the over/under read is a fairly simple one, the fact that Glennon wasn't afraid to throw between linebackers speaks volumes about his anticipation and awareness. I noticed three additional aspects of Glennon's game that will stand out when NFL scouts pop in the tape: 1. Arm talent. Glennon is one of the most impressive throwers in college football. He has rare arm strength, and his ability to make all of the throws to every area of the field with zip and velocity makes him an ideal fit for most traditional pro-style systems. While watching him work against the Tar Heels, I was blown away by the pace of his balls. Glennon unleashes laser-like tosses on out-breaking routes; he will not have any issues throwing the deep comeback to the far side of the field from the pocket. When given the opportunity to attack down the field on vertical routes, Glennon displayed excellent accuracy and touch. He routinely dropped the ball in over the receiver's proper shoulder, and he rarely forced his receivers to alter their stride. This will certainly catch the attention of scouts and coaches who favor offensive systems built on the vertical passing game; it could be what separates Glennon from the other prospects leading up to the draft. 2. Pocket presence. Glennon is not an athletic playmaker, and he can't defeat defenses with his feet. He can, however, punish opponents with his precise passing skills. When given ample time to throw from a clean pocket, Glennon looked like a potential Pro Bowl-caliber player, delivering pinpoint throws to his intended targets and displaying the kind of consistent placement one would expect from an elite signal-caller. His accuracy and ball placement, in fact, ranked as definite bright spots in his overall performance. Though he showed outstanding poise against pressure, he simply lacked the elusiveness to avoid multiple rushers in the pocket, taking five sacks that a better athlete might have avoided. To succeed against blitz-heavy tactics as a pro, he'll need to develop a top-notch feel for deciphering coverage, particularly blitz pressure, and utilize hot reads/sight adjustments to exploit the defense's vulnerabilities. Glennon certainly appears to have the football IQ necessary for grasping and executing that concept after spending four years playing within a pro-style system at N.C. State, but he'll need additional coaching and repetitions to master the nuances of the tactic. 3. Leadership. One of the traits most coveted by scouts and coaches searching for a franchise quarterback is leadership ability. Elite quarterbacks must be able to inspire confidence in their teammates with their poise and performance under pressure. They must also outwork everyone in the building, putting in the time to master the nuances of the offense. Glennon exhibited all of those qualities with his strong performance against the Tar Heels. He rallied the Wolfpack back from an 18-point deficit, making a host of big plays to energize his sideline. Most importantly, he didn't give up on his teammates despite the countless miscues and blunders they made in the passing game. He kept his body language positive and his interactions in the huddle encouraging. Though N.C. State lost, Glennon showed all of the intangible qualities one looks for in a quarterback, likely boosting his value in the minds of evaluators. Glennon is currently a borderline first-round pick on draft boards across the NFL, but the buzz circulating in the scouting community leads me to believe he'll make a dramatic jump up the charts as the evaluation process continues. At this stage of his development, Glennon reminds me of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco; I can see a team falling in love with his talent when he works out in front of scouts at all-star games and other pre-draft workouts. With at least four more games to showcase his immense talent and potential, Glennon is definitely a prospect to watch over the next few months."
