^i doubt it. this is pretty much a miniseries. there's no payoff for leaving loose ends after the season is done. lost had much more incentive to keep dragging viewers along. also, fuck lost.

I dunno if its because I had people over and wasn't paying very close attention, but I felt like last night's episode wasn't as good as episodes 1 or 2.

I thought it was on par with 1 but not as good as 2. This season just seems to have way too many things going on at once. Last season had a lot of side story lines but it all tied to the main story of the house and the fact that everyone who died in the house came back as a ghost.

This season has aliens, monsters in the woods, bloodyface, ghost girl from the past haunting the head nun and possessed devil nun...and I feel like I'm forgetting something. None of these are the main story and none tie into each other (yet). Think I would have preferred focusing on a couple things (bloodyface and demon nun) and leave all the extemporaneous stuff out

i like the direction of a nazi doctor, but the anne frank thing is a little hokey. interesting nonetheless. i'm curious to see where this goes.

Well it is an insane asylum. She might have been in a nazi war camp but she could be crazy and thinks she is Anne Frank

The doctor and the priest were gay lovers in the concentration camp showers.

Nice twist on Zachary Quinto actually being bloody face. I guess the doctor is just a weird old Nazi but he's no serial killer. One thing though -- obviously the doctor set up Kit to take the fall for being bloody face by convincing him to "confess" but that means that he can't really dump any more bodies or else the police will know that he's still out there, or at least there is a copycat killer that they need to track down.

I really really wish I had not known beforehand that we would find out who Blood Face is. Because it made that last part of the episode a bit predictable. Overally I thought it was a pretty well done episode.

And AHS has been greenlit for season three!

I didn't really care for the last episode, but I think it has been a great season so far. The last episode seemed like it was going for the "gross you out" factor with all the blood and wrist cutting action.

While I strongly enjoy this season, I do feel like it's not as great as season 1.

I really hope it all comes together soon, I think my biggest issue is so many story lines that seem disconnected but I have a feeling it will wrap up nicely.

it feels exactly the same as S1. it's doing too much at once. I keep forgetting this was made by the same guys that made Niptuck, a show that was a clusterbomb of nonsense mixed in a microwavable gumbo pot.

has anyone noticed the continuing theme between last season and this season of children of the damned. Last season there was the baby born by the dead and the living and then this season there is the child of bloody face. We also have the child from dead, space alien revived grace.

I don't think it is coincidence.

I really enjoyed that episode. I actually really enjoyed the dance scene. It was an interjection of levity in what is typically an aphotic series. It also served to show that somewhere still in there sister jude's brain still functioned. She knew everyone's name and her own. The scene added a lot of value.

I'm a little curious what will be next, though. We have 3 left, so they're clearly wrapping some loose ends up but with the evil gone what do we have left? Just the aliens?

How are they going to have anything for two more episodes? Seems like most everything is about wrapped up, I figured next week was the finale.

Ha, I agree.
I almost thought I missed something and thought this last episode was the finale because everyone was dying, escaping, or being released.

Kit you rascal you.

Considering the "bad" ending of last season, I'm thinking there will be some kind of twist. Maybe Grace actually turns out to really be an axe murderer or something? There is also the tale of how Dylan McDermott came to be who he is and his story needs it's conclusion.

Did they resolve the current day situation yet? What happened to that Maroon 5 guy? Is there still a killer hanging out in the defunct asylum?

yeah they still need to address the modern timeline.

i'm still not positive who mcdermott's parents are. it could be bloodyface/lana, or kip/grace. or some crazy alien baby. i'm expecting a twist there.

^Maroon 5 guy is dead. The police found his body in the derelict asylum. McDermott killed him and the copycats and refers to himself as the son of Bloodyface.

Not sure how I feel about the way this is ending, the finale better be pretty surprising or I will be pretty disappointed in this season. Definitely need some crazy alien encounter and Jude going on a rampage.

the only thing i did like is that jude has gone completely off her rocker. its fucked up that the monsignor bailed like that though. he probably figured if she got out that she'd share the fucked up tales and affect his career.

The finale seemed entirely anticlimatic to me. Disappointing.

^Yeah me too. What's up with the aliens? They seemed like they were only in the season as a convenient plot device to move things along. I was hoping Kit's two kids would turn out to have some kind of special powers or something but just making them become above average in intelligence seemed like a cop out.

Making Lana live "happily ever after" seems kinda lame too. They should have done a flashback and shown the demon from Sister Eunice jump into her or something right before she died.

The demon thing pissed me off. So the possessed child dies and the demon goes into the nun. Then the nun dies and the demon just...dies? WTF that makes no sense

The show was definitely entertaining from episode to episode, and I've been thinking about it so that's a good thing, I guess.

Anyway, I need y'all's help. I think I generally understand what happened, and I'm not too worried about the stuff I didn't catch. But what was the point?

There were a lot of ambitious people on the show--the nun, the monsignor, Lana, the doctor...and the show itself was pretty ambitious in its scope. But what messages did they convey about ambition? What about sanity? And evil? And...?

I'm having trouble putting it together into something meaningful, and it seems like it should be.

Yeah, I am walking away feeling like nothing really happened. I mean, obviously things happened throughout but it didn't really seem to have a purpose. I'd like to watch season one again, I really enjoyed that story.

friends of mine on facebook were commenting on how brilliant the finale was, I think I was watching a different show

I really wanted to like it, I tried hard but it just fell flat for me. I'll be excited for a new season though, at least they change plots each time.

This season started off well but it quickly seemed to unravel around or after the Santa Clause episode when major characters started dying and it was apparent the overall story was going nowhere. Too many protagonists turned antagonists and antagonists turned protagonists and aliens and indulgent Jessica Lange scenes. Her death scene seriously stretched on into eternity. Ryan Murphy peaked at Nip/Tuck Season 2.

i haven't felt this let down since the end of lost.

all it served to do was wrap up lose ends and write everyone off but it didn't actually provide real closure. if it comes back for a third season, i'm not going to waste my time with it.

I'm trying to come up with some reasoning or conclusion that I can get from the finale..

I'll admit, it was a let down. A couple scenes dragged and dragged foreverrrrr.

The only thing I can think of is that it represents how the asylums were in the 60s and 70s and a lot of stuff happened that was forgotten about and swept under the rugs...
