Honestly this game actually sets up well for State. State is coming off two emotional last second wins and will be confident entering the game. The cheaters are coming off a difficult loss to Duke which likely ended their imaginary shot at a Coastal title. State has a lot more to play for.

Let's hope TOB can keep the team focused and have them ready to play at the intensity he's had them at the past 5 years against the holes. Bernard is a monster, but if State can keep him from going nuts and keep pressure on Renner, we should be able to win this game.

Also Jones Angel is the gayest name in the world of sports (UNC's announcer). Even more than Dick Butkus.

Well, we have more to lose from the game, certainly. Hopefully TOB won't have a hard time getting our guys focused or pumped about the game, one more win and we're bowl eligible with a favorable schedule the rest of the way out(other than Clemson).

But this is UNC's Superbowl, so you know they're gonna be pumped.

honestly, I would trade this game for a guaranteed win against clemson. we'd still have to beat wake/uva/bc which is no guarantee and fsu would have to lose again which may not happen...but I'd take that chance

So when/if we lose to Clemson. An win everything else (in theory) Clemson wins the division unless thy lose either wake, duke or Maryland.
Their toughest games. Us and Maryland are at home for them.

Unbelievable line on this game. We are ranked slightly ahead of them so they should be favored by 1 or 2.


7 is outrageous and 9 is just indefensible. That being said I hope we don't get blown out.


Unc has a really good offense and a terrible defense. We are slightly above average on both sides. They have a huge special teams edge though, we've sucked in that department this year.

I haven't been impressed with UNC's passing game this year. Bernard is a beast and AJ Blue is no joke, but I think we will bring the best rushing defense they have faced so far this year. Apart from giving up 5 or 6 big plays in Miami, our defense has been pretty solid.

Clearly, our offense is inconsistent. Our running game is better that our stats would indicate and our pass game is streaky but dangerous. I do not have complete faith in Glennon right now.

This outcome of this game may be determined by turnover margin alone.

While it's true we will be the best ACC rushing defense they have seen so far (138 YPG), I feel very concerned about it after our abysmal effort against Maryland (206 yds). They were the worst rushing offense in the ACC. Yeah, their starter got injured and their backup was a legit threat, but we should not have let an inexperienced backup run their offense so smoothly. It reminded me of Oregon, or West Virginia circa 2007. Not to mention that true freshman at the end coming in looking like a veteran. Getting exposed like that is not good for us.

We get torched by Miami for 500+ passing yards, shut down FSU in the 2nd half, then get run over by Maryland. It's tough to know which one of our defenses will show up. Good thing we play UNC this week, so we should be hyped.

^^Well yes we gave up a ton of yards. But I'm sure we don't have to worry about Renner running that option. If he has the ball, its a pass and if Bernard has the ball its a run. A lot less to worry about as opposed to what happened in Maryland.

Burns accounted for 50 yards of that rushing. We couldn't stop him from running when we prepared for a throwing QB. That isn't a huge risk against Renner (who has 44 on the season).

My bigger concern is that with the game on the line we let Rowe throw 50 yards on only two passes (on two attempts). We have to close it out this time and not rely on a lucky finish.
