at least we already have a built-in excuse for when Amerson gives up 3 more TDs

Vanderbilt lives off points inside the red zone. I doubt they get those against us.

They don't throw it deep. That's our main weakness defensively.

Defensively they are horrid.

They are hopelessly short and have zero depth.

I like NC State vs the spread. This has all the makings of a 30+ point game that might only be a 15 point spread.

Really big game for us.

We're #78 in kenpom which honestly sounds about exactly right to me right now.

Until Zoba Fett and ShaRaThor begin playing like all Americans I think we've reached our maximum potential.

If and when they become rhinestone cowboys though look out. Until then hold your lassos.

My student section ticket is in 138, so I'd say around that corner of the stadium.

Road game against a well coached team is not good for us. Plus with Bible coaching the team, it is hard to say how well we will be prepared. I think our offense will play well since Bible will not be restricted by TOB's bullshit, but I think the defense might suck a fat one since all the coaches have probably checked out. My prediction is that it's close through 3 quarters and then we make a mistake in the 4th allowing Vandy to pull away.

State = 27
Vandy = 41

Looking forward to the game to see Glennon play one last time, but I do think the defense is gonna be pretty horrible with no real motivation (although playing horrible would be consistent with what they've done all year). Feel like Vandy wins by 10, but it'll at least be a fun game to watch.

Anyone got any suggestions for bars in Nashville?

I'm not sure I've ever cared less about an NC State football game... (Except for the Wake Forest game earlier this year). For the final time, thanks TOB era.

^No kidding. Back in the Chuck era, I would have gone to Nashville to see this game in person. Now I'm not even taking off work to watch it. I also followed football recruiting like it was religion in the Chuck era, but I basically stopped giving a shit under TOB.

Maybe it's just me getting older, or maybe it's just boring football, but the apathy TOB instilled is unreal.

Why were people so nuts about Chuck?

After PR left, we were worse than TOB's teams. Chuck went 15-20 his last three years.

^^Funny...I felt the same way during the "Chuck era."

That guy was the fucking worst (as a coach of course...thanks for your playing days and your love of State). Our stupid redneck, lemming fanbase would have followed that guy off a cliff.

^ I agree. There was some unfounded redneck love for Amato that I just could not understand. Chuck was entertaining as a person and recruited well initially, but we were awful his last 3 years and he left the cupboard empty for TOB.

I'd be more excited for this game if Doeren was coaching even if we'd be at a major disadvantage in terms of preparation.

Team has no morale; probably don't care. You've got to be one serious State football fan to book flights for this crap. Though, I'm sure Nashville is more than a dead duck in a pond or dogshit on a mock replica (are you Aspergers or something to remember things like that?), so have your fun either way...

I'm sure it'll be a great time, either way. I just personally just wouldn't make a big deal about it enough to book flights and such, but I wouldn't want to spend all that time driving there either. Whatever...

Anyone that is already in Nashville tonight, from 9-11 at Tequila Cowboy at 305 Broadway they are having a NC State Pep Rally. Earlier they had a battle of the bands in the middle of Broadway with the fans lining the street. Good time and good turn out for Pack fans. Even had Vandy fans saying our band was great. Now only if it could transfer to the field tomorrow.

Broadway is cool and all but don't go there if you are going to complain about how redneck and country nashville is. What do you expect? tThat street is the hillbilly party capital. Even if you demolished broadway, Nashville still has a very vibrant, metro nightlife. I've got nothing against broadway but can understand why people do. I even prefer 2nd which is really just a continuation of braodway but a bit less honkey tonkey. Nashville has something for everyone.

-Go to demonbrean which is the sophisticated southern post grad paradise. bros with popped collars and blonde belles everywhere. (straight line of bars great for hopping) right next to the gluch

-or go to the gulch which is the yuppie paradice adjacent to broadway. green bars at the bottom of 100% solar powered highrise condos and great drinks starting at 10usd. (whiskey kitchen is the best bar/grill i've ever been to). I would party and listen to music here every night if i had the money. There are TONS of places in walking distance. between the gulch and broadway

-or go to division street which is the sec-style drunk fest. (winners and losers are my favorite bars). gets a bit sleazy but its typical of a college area. division street is part of a bigger bar scene called "midtown"

-if you are over 30 then 12th south is the place for you. its like glenwood in raleigh.

- if you're too cool for any of that just go to elliston place (right near westend/vandy) which is the hipster haven and about three bars in a row with 2 music venues where you can listen to the best acts that you probably haven't heard of (but eveyrone there has) AND throw down 1 dollar pbrs.

basically starting at vandy division street is right there and a 5 minute walk from demonbrean which is a five minute walk from gulch which is a five minute walk from broadway which is connected to 2nd. you could do all of those realistically for an epic night of variety.

[Edited on December 31, 2012 at 1:45 AM. Reason : don't count on parking or getting a cab at all. bassnector lets out 20k @ 2am and you are stranded]

Then Sunday came, and despite the sparse crowd for the NFL showcase against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tennessee Titans clamored through a 60-minute clash in which former North Carolina linebacker Zach Brown had two defensive touchdowns."

So I take it next year Tennessee will seek to have an away game the day before they decide to host a bowl game. I wonder if the field bowl logos will look like the art of a 2nd grader....
