I assume the kid had access to the internet

Point being, gun safes are designed to keep out children....not adults. 12/19/2012 3:39:42 PM |

So what are we arguing? That there was no use in the woman locking up her guns in a safe? 12/19/2012 3:41:09 PM |

i refuse to stoop to the anti's level and spout off bullshit that's based on public perception and what i saw in a movie instead of facts. you should too.
residential security containers (some of which are commonly called "gun safes" by the general public) protect from children, smash and grab thieves that came unprepared, and fire.

It might have helped, but if he had his mind set on killing people he could search google and be into that safe in less than an hour. 12/19/2012 3:44:46 PM |

^^^hey bud, i'm not "anti", as you assume, and i don't think that believing that a safe would be better than no safe. i've got my own, i just think it might have been a good idea to have the guns in safe, since she had a mentally disturbed individual in the house. that's all. we don't know how impulsive this spree was. he might not have done it if he had to go through the trouble of breaking into a safe. we don't know. but it wouldn't have hurt to have the guns a safe. i didn't think that'd be arguable.

^^what? unless he knew the combination, he wouldn't get into a locked safe, no matter how determined he was. unless he had dynamite. but then he may have just used the dynamite at the school and wouldn't have needed the guns.
