Obama made a joke about drones at the White House Correspondent Dinner. He said something about bombing boys who try to get with his daughters. Said that they'll never see it coming.

Personally I think eating a Hellfire missile is comic gold.
Reminds me of another joke that liberals pounced on back in the day courtesy John McCain.
Bomb, bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran... Or something similar. I still see that bullshit on FB to this day, but God knows these hypocrits wont report anything moronic coming from Barack.
His delivery is just so stunning.
Off-color is off-color, period. That being said most of his other comments were pretty funny. 4/29/2013 2:26:34 PM |

That was probably the stupidest thing I had ever heard a politician say in my lifetime.
When I was saying to myself "but there are soooo many things I don't like about candidate Obama", I just remembered the clip of John McCain singing that. Pretty much settled it.4/29/2013 4:43:06 PM |

Oh I agree, it was stupid as shit. Probably worse than what Obama said since every father jokes about harming his daughters' boyfriends...
But bad timing IMO since drones are being scrutinized more closely? Maybe I dont care as much as I did earlier today.

liberals hate obamas drone policy. 4/29/2013 9:58:12 PM |

That is a fair example, although I would argue the audience still isnt big enough.
You could say that conservatives dont have an equivalent to The Daily Show, but it might be fair to lend that title to FoxNews in general. Even though it isnt an open parody of news it basically is (except not funny).
That being said one of the single biggest complaints about Fox's ridiculousness if the huge number of people they reach. MSNBC really cant touch it, even if they happened to trumpet disgust for Obama (which they dont).
Ive said this many times before and obviously Republicans are guilty of the same thing. You just dont want to damage the home team. Theyre your favorite, theyre the crowd favorite, and while it might be correct to turn the other cheek when ridiculous shit comes up (birth certificate) it most certainly is not when we are talking about semi-autonomous exterminations.
The same argument is occasionally leveled against Muslims. It takes a literal retard to think that all Muslims are evil or terrorists, but it isnt quite so far fetched to think maybe they could do more to police their own radicals.
We sure as hell do when we burn down compounds in Texas, or give some loonies the needle, or throw them in supermax. Christian radicals certainly dont infiltrate the upper levels of government, unless you want to point at retards like Bachmann and Santorum, but they dont hold the governmental power that similar Islamic radicals hold in certain countries.
Anyway, thats a different argument for a different thread, but the point remains the same. Republicans shouldnt be the ones crying loudest about Obama. They should simply be screaming "I told ya so." YOU GUYS should be the most hurt since he obviously lied/betrayed you. Most Republicans never gave him the benefit of the doubt. 4/30/2013 12:38:39 PM |

this idea that liberals will not attack Obama's drone program because he is their dear leader is totally in your head
How big of a liberal voice do you need? Rachel Maddow? She called it the most Orwellian thing about being an American and points out that there is no accountability for deciding who the bad guys are. Or maybe I should point to protests all over the country? What are your goalposts?
There needs to be more outrage over drone strikes, but liberals are happy to criticize Obama's (who is not a liberal) drone policy (and other non-liberal policies).

Im not happy until you join hands and drag his administration / the Democratic Party down from the inside.
In all seriousness though, Im glad we agree. Im also very skeptical of what Rachel Maddow might have said (Im not familiar with the exact quote or segment where she said these things), but Im highly skeptical she called out Obama (or any member of his administration) specifically.
More likely she criticized the program as youve described, but then mentioned how it began under Bush, etc. 4/30/2013 1:27:00 PM |

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/apr/24/boston-terrorism-motives-us-violence
They make the case here that recent terror attacks were all motivated by US military actions abroad.
This is a quote from a pro-American Yemeni to Congress:
Quote : | "Just six days ago, my village was struck by a drone, in an attack that terrified thousands of simple, poor farmers. The drone strike and its impact tore my heart, much as the tragic bombings in Boston last week tore your hearts and also mine.
"What radicals had previously failed to achieve in my village one drone strike accomplished in an instant: there is now an intense anger and growing hatred of America." |
I'm not trying to get all conspiracy, but it sounds like we got a war on a Middle East that hates us. In no small part, however, they only started hating us 10 years after 9/11
Quote : | "I have to say that the drone strikes and the targeted killing program have made my passion and mission in support of America almost impossible in Yemen. In some areas of Yemen, the anger against America that results from the strikes makes it dangerous for me to even acknowledge having visited America, much less testify how much my life changed thanks to the State Department scholarships. It's sometimes too dangerous to even admit that I have American friends." |
I'm frankly terrified of the Middle East we're creating.5/1/2013 12:03:15 PM |
