Does the BSA get any funding from taxes, federal, state or local? If not, then why the hell does it matter what they do? Or don't do?

"Boy Scouts End Longtime Ban on Openly Gay Youths

GRAPEVINE, Tex. — The Boy Scouts of America on Thursday ended its longstanding policy of forbidding openly gay youths to participate in its activities, a step its chief executive called “compassionate, caring and kind.”

The decision, which came after years of resistance and wrenching internal debate, was widely seen as a milestone for the Boy Scouts, a symbol of traditional America. "

"“I’ve waited 13 years for this,” said Matt Comer, now 27, who had to leave his scout troop at 14 after he started a Gay-Straight Alliance at his school. Since the fourth grade, he said Thursday, he had dreamed of becoming an Eagle Scout and was crushed when he was denied the chance."

Seems like this puts them undeniably on the path in the next 5 years or so of allowing the next generation of leaders to not have to lie about themselves, once a new wave of scouts comes up through the process knowing openly gay scouts, as they and their friends aim to become leaders.

Much ado about nothing. Crazy that a group of people are worried about gays like this

I remember reading that nearly 70% of the funding for scouts comes from churches. It will be interesting to see if they lose funding based on that decision. Good for them for not allowing money to influence the decision though. With what they charge for uniforms etc. that's a surprise.

Defense and aerospace giant Lockheed Martin is halting its donations to the Boy Scouts of America over the organization's ban on gays serving as adult leaders after a review of the company's philanthropy guidelines, the company said Thursday."

On a related note, in Utah:
