I didnt watch a single game of the acc tournament just too depressing.

yeah, back to back ncaa tourney appearances is horrible for us. I mean, lowe was so much better. We should just bend over and let Temple beat us because being a fan is too hard.
we lost to miami and played terrible for 10 minutes and only got beat by 10. We were within 6 at one point. we aren't bad, and certainly have the ability to stun some people. how fun will it be to upset people's brackets?!3/18/2013 11:22:42 AM |

When will we be cutting down the nets?
In all seriousness I will go with a win over Temple then a loss to Indiana.

I mean, yeah, this season was a disappointment, but it's far from a low point. I'd say Lowe seasons 2 and 5 were low points. Our biggest problem this year was inability to finish close games. Combined with the Brown injury, we left at least 5 wins on the table. That would have made the difference between our current 8 seed and probably a 4 seed. I'd save the doom and gloom for next year. Gottfried is really going to have show his coaching chops to avoid a real stinker of a season. 3/18/2013 11:36:28 AM |

Damn, they were in a LOT of 1 point games and all in a row....and a lot of close games in general. Let's not make it close so I don't have to worry. Also, I will be at Georgetown Friday for the games. Do you think the girl and I should drive to philly watch our game somewhere then go to her game or just watch em both in Georgetown and see what happens so to plan something Sunday? thanks for the life advice. 3/18/2013 2:18:04 PM |

To me this season is the low point.
Sucking when your team sucks still sucks but Sucking when your team doesnt suck really fucking sucks.
Whats the point anymore? We will never have a better roster and unc will rarely ever be worse and we still cant sweep or finish ahead of them in the regular season. We were un competitive in the acc tournament and now we are about to get blown out in the round of 32.
And we have very little to build on we are losing practically everything with little hope for the future. I just dont see gottfried being successful. The talent is leaving and the momentum is gone. Recruiting will surely follow. We all know what's next. More losing. 3/18/2013 8:02:28 PM |

Quote : | "These middling teams deserve to be in the field, because of their records and their talent and etc., but at the same time, they are hopelessly inept in key ways, and it's going to kill them. Having them around is like inviting your boss to a party. I get why he has to be there, but really, it would be way better if he didn't come. These teams are one-and-done at best.
39. Minnesota (11) — Weakness: Tubby Smith being allowed to coach.
38. Colorado (10) — Weakness: Playing in the stupid Pac-12. It's stupid. Also, losing to a ton of bad teams, to the point that the idea of Colorado winning two games in a row is laughable.
37. Cincinnati (10) — Great at defense, tragically cannot score. Just like me, in high school.
36. Wichita State (9) — Hey, look at all those great wins! Oh wait, it just beat Creighton once in three tries, barely, at home? That's it? I have no idea how this team got a 9-seed. It will score 37 points against Pittsburgh.
35. Missouri (9) — Weakness: Frank Haith being allowed to do anything but recruit.
34. Villanova (9) — Hold on, before I commit to this, let me just make sure that none of the games are being played at Villanova, at the magical mystery dome where they can't lose. No? None? OK, thanks.
33. North Carolina State (8) — Other than having poor defense, no discipline, and a star player who pouts whenever things start to go slightly bad, the Pack should be fine." |

Quote : | "9. Indiana (1) — Tom Crean. Whether it's horribly timed substitutions, stubborn adherence to bad game plans, or mysteriously failing to insist on letting the offense run through Cody Zeller, Crean will absolutely cost his team a game it could win." |

Checked a lot of the "expert" brackets on CBS Sports, and I'd say a majority of them are picking Temple. Kind of surprised me. 3/19/2013 11:59:50 AM |

^^^^And I don't really get the "no discipline" claim. No defense, sure, but no discipline? It's not like we jack up terrible shots or have an abnormally high turnover rate.
I'd say maybe no discipline = lack of focus on defense, but I attribute that mainly to playing 3 freshman big minutes, and having CJ on the team. 3/19/2013 12:01:56 PM |

Most of the experts are low on the ACC, so not surprising they wouldn't give much love to the #5 team in a conference they consider "down". Plus the not living up to expectations thing and that Wyatt kid being their conference player of the year(and their conference has more NCAA teams than the ACC team). 3/19/2013 12:02:32 PM |

Officiating is always better in the NCAAs, except for that horrendous out of bounds called on UNCA last year, which I am pretty sure ended up being called because they didn't want to call a foul. 3/19/2013 8:41:25 PM |

i'm totally okay w/ a ref deciding to call it incorrectly out of bounds instead of calling a foul.

Team is fairly disciplined offensively as far as running the scheme.
Lorenzo is sloppy sometimes with the ball and Purvis and lewis take bad shots but thats about it. Cj usually runs the offense but doesn't pass enough.
Defensively we're a mess. And we bark at the refs some.
Its not undisciplined like the costner era though 3/19/2013 9:31:24 PM |

we've gotten 5 technical fouls this year...3 on CJL, 1 on Warren, 1 on Wood
Warren "threw" the ball at the defender on the ground, don't really remember Wood's technical, and at least 1 of Leslie's was completely understandable, since he was getting mugged with no calls
i mean, Duke has more technicals than us this year, they must be even more undisciplined!] 3/19/2013 9:35:40 PM |
