This guy saved our ass tonight. That step back 3 was one of the best plays we've made all year.

He even made a few two pointers in traffic, one was a warren-esque floater.

If he can improve just a little bit next year and with the addition of Lacey...we might be alright in terms of filling in for Warren's offensive production.

Although not as great a shooter as Wood, he has the ability to get his shot off a little better (but he's still good at running 100 mph around a screen and stopping on a dime to raise up and hit that shot).

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Wood's release was quicker, but Turner's release point is so unbelievably high that he doesn't need much space to get his shot off. It looks awkward, but it works

Banked 3 was the turning point in the game tonight. gg Turner even though it was all luck on a forced shot.

he's not as consistent as scott...which in some ways is a good thing, because when he gets hot it's almost a guaranteed win b/c he struggles way less to get open and when he's having an off night it's obvious and we go to other options

Helluva game tonight against the vols. His FT% improved drastically from last year and that deep 3 he hit was epic.

It's always entertaining when a player breaks out like this and then you go back and read what folks on here were saying about him a year ago.

^to be fair, he did start kinda streaky last year. probably just nerves/rust at the time. and he's obviously gotten a lot better.

but i do agree...we were too harsh on him at the time, probably.

^^ What are you talking about?? He was good last year (started a little slow...which is expected with a transfer who sits out for a year). He's a little better this year. He's an above average streaky shooter (which means he normally has more good streaks than bad).

IIRC at the beginning of the season he was leading the NCAA in most consecutive games with a 3-pointer... is that still ongoing?

^he was 0/4 vs Jacksonville from 3. So that streak is over I guess. He has hit at least 1 in every other game.

We're State fans...we've bashed Rivers, Wilson, Glennon, and even Warren at some point. Of course a streaky three point shooter is going to get roasted ever now and then.
