It's a fact that the average person overestimates the number of hours they work in an "average" week. (Unless they are paid hourly or otherwise closely tracking their hours) 9/3/2013 4:49:28 PM |

We talking like they over estimate that they show up for 40 hours, or over estimate how much they actually work when at work. 9/3/2013 5:53:29 PM |

Oh, I mean I can estimate how many hours I actually show up easily... I show up and leave the same time every day. Legitimately working is far harder to project. 9/3/2013 6:50:06 PM |

I ACTUALLY worked maybe 3 hours today - and that's a good day

If you say so. I probably work a few more than 40 as I eat at my desk more days than not, but after hours work is minimal. I'm well short of 50 every week unless there is some sort of emergency/project deadline, and that's rare. I think it depends on your industry. 60 hours/week plus another 10 in the car is absurd no matter what.9/4/2013 12:59:28 PM |

I have to say, now that I've actually got some better subordinates I'm working a lot less. I used to clock around 50-55 hours per week on salary, and that's on a 4 day work week. The last couple of weeks I've managed to slide out around 32-36 hours in a week. 9/4/2013 1:23:45 PM |
