If I were to describe the least favorite things that describe a NC State football game and tailgate, this game would have most all of them.

730 am tailgate opening, bad opponent, holiday weekend, Late August during the hottest part of the day, and its the first game forcing you to go regardless.

This season is meaningless and a bowl is a bonus. Doeren needs time to settle and we need to rely on him long term. Just like Man United are with David Moyes. Let's see what happens first. A Bcs bowl for Doeren or a Champions League for United

I'm officially excited about this game after rewatching the end of the FSU game from last year. A lot of unknowns and should be an exciting season regardless. Bring on Karl Malone University.

^^I'm certainly not concerned with a national title, especially this year, and yes, conference wins are what determine conference titles...but there is also a reason every single team in the nation schedules a couple cupcakes every year...10-4 looks a helluva lot better than 8-6

So Vegas has the o/u on this at like 62.5 per a post in the predict the score thread. I don't see that many points being scored. Our offense is not going to be good this year and we're breaking in a new system with a new QB, Shadrach is suspended, and OL has lots of question marks. Plus our D should be able to keep the LT offense from going too crazy although LT was a pretty prolific scoring team last year (but Dykes is gone so who knows for them).

we will be running a fast paced offense. even if its not good, it will lead to extra possessions and high scoring games.

i dont expect our new qb to be anywhere near as good as our last 2 but i do expect them to be worlds better than all the other post-rivers qbs.

Awesome seeing Zach Gentry as the starting middle linebacker for Saturday. Kid works his ass off and earned that spot. Great job man. Now go smash some heads like you did on kickoff for so many years.

Also kid penciled in at backup RB, Matthew Dayes, doesn't look bad at all. Has some good speed, cuts well, not afraid to go up the middle and follows his blocks well. Good to have him in here as an option as a freshman.
