Warren is player of the game, he went for 38 minutes. When asked how he lost weight, he said a lot of conditioning and a lot of Subway, fruits and vegetables and staying away from fried foods. Ralston Turner is also being interviewed, said it was his first "real" game in 19 months.

Just got back from the game.

Overall impression: It's early.

It was obvious the team looked a little slow out of the gate, especially on offense...then their skill took over near the end.

We will get crushed on the boards this year.

We need our FTs to be better and turnovers to be a LOT less to compensate for loss of rebounding.

With that said...Lewis, Turner and Obviously Warren are our only real scorers. Lee has potential along with Cat but they both honestly looked tired.

We need Washington to be BIG for us...and I mean that in a lot of ways.

Gonna be some really bad games if we dont shoot a high %.

Pros: high scoring, transition, flashy team that has a wide range of scoring threats.
Cons: rebounding, turnover and free throw woes.

I'm not an AD but i'm sure there are dozens of unproven coaches and assistants that we don't know about. A coach we don't know about is better than a coach we know is bad.

Greg Marshall is the only name I know right off without doing any research though. A good AD would do research and sift through dozens of better alternatives.

Maybe you are getting him confused with shaka smart, brad stevens, Steve alford, Mark Few, jim laranage or some other elite coach we missed out on last time around.

just got back from the game

- washington really impressed me with his hustle and being a good teammate (showed a lot of energy for his teammates, went out of his way to high five, waited for Cat at the half to run off the court together)

- lewis looked good, some of his passes were sick

- the team looked tired at points. Lewis/Cat especially needed some breathers. Pembroke was running us as much as we were running them.

- anya looked lost and hardly got any time. He is not in shape, and didn't really run the court much when he was in the game (the few minutes he saw time)

- vandy looked decent in his short time on the court too, but he was in a lot of pain. Anyone hear how bad the injury was?

- warren still looked smooth, he was automatic around the basket.

Admittedly, I didn't watch the game -- just looked at the box score -- but Lee was 6-8 from the floor with 16 points. Plus, it was basically his first college game playing with all new teammates. I think he'll end up being our 2nd scoring option behind TJ before long.

He, like everyone else, needs to make their damn free throws. Lewis was automatic last year; hopefully tonight was just a fluke.
