I think they're calling it pretty even both ways in the sense that they're calling any/all contact a foul... just don't know if we have enough players to make it through at this pace.

its at cincinnati and they have been called for more fouls than us

it's just the new rules. cincy has done a better job of jumping into guys than us so far

On the one hand I'm glad they are calling fouls because the college game has gotten really bad about letting people bog down the game with shitty defense...

but for some reason I feel like teams aren't going to try and improve defense and positioning and will just accept the fouls and make the game unwatchably broken up.

Yeah I mean its one thing to have an adjustment period I'm just afraid that could become the norm and then you have teams like Duke or Wisconson that learn to play to optimize fouls instead of playing defense without your hands all over someone and trying to flop etc.

Pretty much the worst start to the half possible but to be expected with a team this young playing their second game together and first time on the road. Definitely a good use for the time out. Turning it over there and giving up another easy bucket would have been rough for this team.

Our freshman bigs just have no answer on defense. That's going to be a problem as the year goes on.

On the upside, we've had a pretty terrible opening here and it is still a 4 point game.
