Vandy seemed to be hinting on twitter that he might be back for this game. With that being said, I don't believe anything he says on twitter, or care if he plays tonight

Vandy was just hyping the game. There's no way he plays tonight.

The best we can hope for is that he'll be back once conference play starts up and is more mobile than Anya.

Side note: I do have high hopes for Anya in this program. I used to laugh just as hard at Richard Howell's inability to get up and down the floor and then his Junior year, he dropped all that weight and started beasting.

The difference between Howell his freshman/sophomore years and Anya this year is about 1 inch and 40 pounds. Howell got up to like 280-285. Anya came in at 340 and is apparently sitting at like 320 now.

Anya is a much more viable option when we are playing 2-3 zone. We should use that more when he is in, so he isn't a liability defending high screens and face up bigs.

Loving the defense over the last 3 minutes or so.

I keep seeing folks on here (and the announcers as well) talk about us missing Vandy so far and I hope I am wrong, but I just can't see him being more effective than the Anya/Freeeman/Washington trifecta we have going. Freeman has really impressed me although he may struggle when we play a team with some size (already saw a little of that with Cincy). Anya is a pleasant surprise, but obviously he is most effective sitting underneath the basket on D. Washington plays with great energy and has flashes of being good.

I didn't see the one game Vandy played in, but given what I have seen of him in the past, I just can't even imagine him being better than what we have seen from the freshmen.And that's not to say our freshmen have been that great. Just that Vandy has been so so bad.

Washington has done very little on the floor. Freeman and Anya both look more comfortable. Washington looks like the game is moving too fast for him

Not sure what happened to Washington, but he looked about as good in his ~5 minutes tonight as he has in the other games thus far. He started but exited about 5 minutes into the game and never returned. Think he had a couple turnovers, but he also had his first basket.

Freeman and Anya looked miles ahead of where they were against App, so that may explain why Washington would get less minutes, although it still seems like we would have rotated him back in during the second half when the rest of the guys seemed a little winded.

Only got one tonight, but Turner's three point shooting has been far better than advertised. I know he can't keep hitting at a 60% pace, but hope he can stay strong. After the early foul trouble, it was nice to see him play some late in the game with only 3 fouls as he got a lot more involved defensively.

Freeman looked good, pulled down some nice boards. Lee impresses like Warren did at the beginning of last year. Everybody seems to love Anya. Place went nuts when Brickhouse drained that 3 at the end. Seemed like the arena was only halfway full.

In other news the blonde barterer at Backyard is ridiculously hot.

Washington gets beat and has to foul too much...Freeman tends to be a bit better on defense against bigs...but he isnt the rebounder Washington is.

Anya looks a lot more comfortable, like he has clicked.

Team looked solid, was a pretty easy win.

FTs are horrible.

God that Campbell fan with the beer hat (that he puts sprite in) was fucking annoying. I think he was in section 127 or something. Every time Lennard would shoot a freethrow he would stand up and cheer "YOU ARE A FREAKING BUM". Finally he got talked to by security.
