good god with the BRUTAL death scenes one after another this season

I'm having to look away , something this show has yet to make me do


but there are plenty of redeeming parts and I LOVE ANN THE BEAST MODE BADASS

I still don't understand WTF happened 2 episodes ago.

1) Why the fuck did Blackbeard et crew board the governor's sloop, instead of continuing to blast it into oblivion with their cannon barrage. They had firepower superiority and could have laid waste to everyone aboard that ship. Instead they boarded the ship and somehow were outnumbered and defeated. The only thing I can think of is the pirates were greedy and wanted the ship intact to add to their fleet?

2) What the hell was the point of surrendering (as Blackbeard was at sword point) to save Blackbeard's life, if the result of the surrender was to systematically start killing the crew, starting with Blackbeard? Why would you surrender the entire force to save the captain's life, when the end result is death of the captain, followed by (certain) death of the whole crew by the noose?

Weak freaking plot there I think

If I'm missing some key bit of information or if someone could explain it to me I'd appreciate it

I was under the impression they surrendered because they knew red coats have previously operated on the prisoner side of thing, not brutal tortures or mass executions. At least not before a 'fair' tril, but they were wrong

also, while finding this pic i learned that clara pagat who plays anne bonny is crazy pretty in real life

^ oh yes I agree, actress is drop dead gorgeous, and seeing naked for the first part of the show was fun..... but now she does a lot more talking and that accent is painful

Seemed like a fitting end to the series, at least with closure. Though John Silver's decision towards the end didn't make a lot of sense to me. Sure I get why he did it, but I feel like the loyalty of "his men" would disappear as soon as they realized his sole motivation was to basically peace out with his woman. And I never really understood the undying loyalty of the red headed badass to Silver.

Does anyone know if Starz pulled the plug on the series prematurely, or if this is the finale that the writers themselves wanted?
