Rory is playing some amazing golf right now. Crazily, Rickie Fowler is probably playing the best golf of his life...just at the wrong time. In line to finish in the Top 5 in all 4 majors this year with a 5th at the Masters, 2nd at US Open, 2nd at British Open and 3rd so far at the PGA. 8/9/2014 8:46:52 PM |

Yeah. Tomorrow should be great. I do agree that it is a bummer Rickie is playing so well but at the wrong time. But it is probably how a lot of people felt when Tiger was dominating most tournaments. 8/9/2014 9:01:45 PM |

^Indeed. It's actually worth watching since there are some ballers locked up at the top. Instead of some boring 6 shot lead or a couple no-names duking it out.

I hope Fowler can pull it out as he has played so well this year he deserves at least one of these wins. 8/10/2014 7:27:48 PM |

This has been a fun day to watch. Awesome 4-way tournament going on at the finish.

Tiger was never quite the same after his woman problems. Rory has kicked it into another gear since he ditched his. Funny how that works. 8/10/2014 8:14:18 PM |

Today was a lot of fun. Was pulling for Rickie but was glad to see Rory win it too.

Rickie was 3 shots up on Rory after he finished the 10th hole while Rory looked on from the fairway. Rory then eagles #10 which changed the entire tournament.
That's one of the best sunday rounds in a major I've seen in years. 8/11/2014 7:16:28 AM |

That eagle did change the tournament, Rory was struggling and the frustration was mounting. I am convinced that he missed that shot though. Looked to me like he was setting up for a big sweeping draw, sort of pulled across it and hit a little low trap. It worked out perfectly for him, but that definitely wasn't the shot he was playing. Even the announcers groaned/gasped a bit when he first struck the shot, I was fully expecting to see the ball bounding into the left rough, crowd, or bleachers.
Good win for Rory. Would have loved to see Fowler or Lefty pull it out. 8/11/2014 7:24:11 AM |

He admitted after the round that he missed it and got lucky, then added that some luck is needed to win majors.
It's crazy how close the difference between winning and losing is in golf. Phil lips out a chip on the front, and if Rory's ball is one yard left on 10 it gets caught up in the rough instead of chasing on the green. That's a 2-3 shot swing on absolute luck really. 8/11/2014 8:48:31 AM |

'bout time we had a good major. this year has been pretty uneventful as far as majors so that was def. worth the wait. 8/11/2014 9:08:02 AM |

amazing finish to the tournament. Phil's near chip-in was heartstopping. Though I think he was a little flustered/pissed by Rory playing so fast and trying to join up. 8/11/2014 9:20:57 AM |

Phil was gracious in his post round interview. I'm sure it wasn't the way he wanted to finish, but if the roles were reversed i think you would see the same sportsmanship out of Rory.
This was an exciting PGA and a kind of finish that this major absolutely needed. A lot of casual golf fans tend to write off the PGA as the least prestigious of the four. But having the two best of the "next generation" and arguably the game's current most popular player battling it out on the final Sunday shows it's still a very important tournament to win. 8/11/2014 10:04:41 AM |

^^,^agreed.
I don't watch a ton of golf, and haven't been a huge fan of Ricky, but I think this tournament changed my mind about him. I like his game a lot - his shot on 16 (17?) from the 15 fairway and over the trees was a clutch shot - reminded me of Phil's, out of the trees draw shot onto the green from the Masters 2 or 3 years ago. Rory was amazing, but I was really hoping he'd really turn up his game and run away on the last 3 holes, especially after that eagle. I mean, you can't really knock his round, but I think he missed several opportunities at the end to impress even more (dare I say, be Tiger-ish?). 8/11/2014 10:29:17 AM |
