Disagree here. Freeman has been the best freshman on the team IMO. He's our only big man who consistently hustles, boxes out, and rebounds. Plus he's got really quick feet and is BY FAR the best at hedging screens. His offense isn't there yet, but he can score if they don't double him in the post. His FT shooting seems like it's gotten a lot better too.

But the biggest thing is that he rarely does anything dumb -- unlike Washington, Vandy, and pretty much everyone else on the team. I can't ever remember saying DAMMIT FREEMAN during a game (aside from FT shooting). He just doesn't screw up much.

Hustle plays are important. But a game like this, points will be a premium.

he has scored more than 5 points exactly TWICE so far in 2014

he's averaging 2.3ppg over our last 4 games

The key to us staying in this game is minimizing turn overs. Syracuse does a good job with forcing turn overs with their zone. When we played Duke game they were feasting on them which lead to EASY buckets. If we would of minimized turnovers the game would of been a lot closer.

(1) Cat, don't dribble too much as this is not HS. Protect the ball, slice the defense, and look to pass to open players. Fancy may get you on ESPN but it doesn't always win games.

(2) If you pass to the big man in the paint he better be within shooting range, or someone better be open to bail him out. I've seen our big men striped way too many times in the paint this year.

(3) Lewis, we need you to make some shots baby as Warren cant win us this game alone or less he drops 46 on Cuse.

Cat is a liability vs zones because he has no hope from range and he doesn't think the game well enough yet to break it down on a consistent basis.

I wouldn't be surprised if TL ended up with more minutes tomorrow.

The guy taking 8% of the shots when he's in the game and making 55% of them is the reason we can't score. Got it.


I'd say the reason we can't score is we have 3 guys who can't fucking shoot always shooting. Washington, Lewis, and Cat. We get it. You guys can't make anything. Why do you feel the need to prove this to us every game?

I'm guessing that Cat and Lee will take turns penetrating the lane just to get stuffed or turn it over repeatedly.

We will need Lewis to step up in this one because Cat hasn't shown much understanding of how to attack a zone defense. We just gotta hope that Ennis doesn't go too crazy while Lewis is guarding him.

Theyre not a high scoring squad even against bad teams. Like cincy theyll try to just smother us with D. Itll come down to turner and warren from the perimeter and pray for a decent amount of rebounds

all you gotta do is sit warren in the middle of the zone and work it around until he gets it and attacks. then have the bigs flank in for rebounds and lee/turner sit in the gaps for 3s.

warren can tear up that zone from the middle like parker did. be ready for cuse to score more than their average against us. coney will prolly light up.
