In the case of Xavier, does the x count as a vowel, like sometimes y? It has 4 syllables but only 3 vowels.

Being from Cincinnati, Xavier is pronounced "Zavier" just like xylophone is "zylophone".

Some people get really upset when it is pronounced "X-avier". Similar to how people from Louisville hate the pronunciation "Lou-eee-ville" instead of "Lou-a-vul", app state people hate "a-puh-LAY-chuhn" instead of the correct "a-puh-"LATCH"-uhn", and Spokane hate "Spo-cane" instead of the correct "Spo-can".

There's one on PP premium written by Xavier's Scout.com beat writer and it kinda scares me. Says they pack the lane on defense, one of their biggest strengths is rebounding, and they often play two PGs at the same time who try to attack off of ball screens. Things that actually gave me hope: they apparently turn over the ball a lot, don't like to play zone, and aren't sure how they'll guard TJ (but then again, who is?). McDermott scored 32 & 27 in their two games so I feel pretty good about TJ's chances.

Yea that preview sounds awful. Just a total mess of things that we've struggled with (pack line defense + guards that can score).

Yeah they are a pretty talented team. Deep rotation of forwards with size, skill and athleticism. One big guy that can shoot it but he's more of a rotation player than someone they rely on. Going to be a tough match up at the guard spot, bigs will have to rotate over to stop Christon from getting to the rim. Slowing him down is the key to the whole game, gotta force the ball out of his hands or make him take jump shots.
