God's honest truth, I just learned today that Minnesota had an NHL team

Minnesota had an NHL team from 1967-1993 and from 2000-present.

If NYR had an NHL-caliber power-play, they'd be up 2-0.

Did they hire Kirk Muller as an outside consultant or something?

I take back the crack about Kirk Muller. The Hurricanes PP was shit this year, but they could at least gain the zone.

I can't believe Martin St Louis even played the last 2 games. I probably would have been too distraught to play. But scoring a goal on mother's day when your mom just died...that's got to be an incredibly emotional moment.

After 2 periods, the Rangers are scoring once per 6 shots while the pens scored once in 23 shots.

Lundqvist is a beast, but I would like to see some more shots taken on the other side.

Can't help but think a few of the odd man rushes the Rangers haven't taken advantage of will come back to bite. Hope I'm wrong..

[Edited on May 13, 2014 at 9:33 PM. Reason : how did they not score there]

I'm still at work so I can only watch the pla-by-play, so I don't know how close the plays are.

But I do see that saves number rolling up. I don't know whether to celebrate how good Lunqvist is or dread how many shots the Penguins are able to take. Being outshot 36-20 seems pretty lopsided, and it was even worse in just the first 2 periods.

Way to go Rangers. They should take a team picture with all their moms right now.

Rangers are now won 5 of their last 6 "Game 7's." For the Penguins I think this makes it 4 straight Game 7 losses on home ice?

Watch at 1:12, I don't think there's anyone who can change direction after getting knocked off balance going that fast.

And even with Price healthy both games, Lunqvist has just been too good. Rangers would have had the first 2 games anyway.

Looking forward to see how the Rangers do at home.

Not to repeat Therrien, but his problem is having done it previously on 2 other occasions. May not be intentional, but is still reckless.

I'm not defending the other situations, but this one is not his fault and I don't think there's anything he could have done (other then skate slower, which why should he, and not get tripped, but the Habs can only blame themselves for that).

22 minutes worth of penalty time dished out before the game was even 10 minutes old.

The NHL has been breaking its tv ratings and attendance records pretty much every season, so it's definitely a TWW thing. Seems like most of the hockey posters have left or post on other sites more.

My dad and I have spent the entire playoffs saying, "Damn I wish the Canes still had that guy", mostly in reference to Justin Williams.

My #bucciovertimechallenge pick last night was just Justin Williams. No Blackhawk.

And while Martinez shot the puck and Leddy put it in, I'd argue J. Willy did all the work.

I do miss Justin Williams, and am glad he continues to have post-season success. But can you really blame JR for trading him at the time? Hindsight is 20/20, but who at the time would have thought he would recover like he has from all of this?

Quote :
"On December 20, 2007, during the first period of a game with the Florida Panthers, Williams suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee after a hit by Rostislav Olesz. Williams underwent successful surgery for the torn ligaments on December 26, 2007, and returned on April 1, 2008, only to leave the game with an unrelated back injury."

Quote :
"On September 17, 2008, Williams was sidelined for 4–6 months when he tore his right Achilles tendon in an off-ice, preseason workout. Williams underwent surgery for the injury on September 18, 2008."

Quote :
"Williams played 32 games before he was again injured, this time by a teammate's slap shot, which broke his left hand."

No, I don't blame JR. And JW a perfect fit in LA, so I'm not sure he would've been as successful here anyway. I'm just saying I love the guy.

I've thought a couple times about how cool it would be if JR had/spent more money (or at least spent more wisely) and we'd been able to keep Williams, Ladd, and Whitney around these last few years. Not exactly sure where we'd slot those guys, but missing the playoffs since 2009 makes it easier to imagine it would have solved our woes.

Yea, I love Williams as well. A few days ago I couldn't remember the exact circumstances of why we traded him, so I reviewed wikipedia (quotes above).

Also, there is this:
