i only had ghosts for a few days before i sold it. the campaign was terrible and the mp was pretty much the same as the previous if not worse. This one looks cool as hell if only for the new futury gadgets.

For the past several years i had been hoping they would make a "Futuristic warfare" type of installment, however it should have come earlier than it did.

i noticed that after the match too, but even if it goes through the progression and says i unlocked something, the "new items" tab is grayed out

i just got my first supply drop and that showed up on under new items, but not the new emblem i got from the same match. weird

i will say that this game is pretty fun. they actually have realistic ammo usage when you reload, meaning you lose the extra bullets in the mag if you reload before empty

its pretty legit so far. jump boost adds an extra dimension to MP.

however, if you were interested in zombies, you have to buy the season pass for $50 to get access to zombies. Yet another instance of Activision being greedy assholes. Thankfully i'm burnt out on zombies pretty much for good that i didn't care about it, but still i only found out about it after buying the game.

got the game last night at midnight with the system bundle

this game is awesome. the series needed something to spice it up and the exo suits were definitely the answer. a lot less camping going on now.

really cool maps
great sound
cool single player campaign with Kevin Spacey
really good graphics

granted, I just got my xb1 so this is my first chance to play next gen

exo suits are pretty fun. i would say i like them more than the suits in titanfall even though you cant run on walls, etc. the maps are smaller than titanfall so the double jumps and dashes seem more effective. it is definitely cod at heart, but the new moves are a good change of pace. those moves make every one on one encounter with the other team different.

^^ I play it, just on PS4 Its a great game, and in fact I can't wait for hardline next yeah. If you didn't play the beta, it feels like BF4 with the pacing of COD (just the pacing and nothing else). Also, on a side note Far Cry 4 is gonna be really good and I recommend trying it out and even the MP in that game might be fun.

^^sniping is a possibility. in fact me and my team got my ass beat by this other team that had really good snipers. obviously some maps are better than others to snipe on, but it is possible.

They said they were including dedicated servers, but Activision has always been deceptive about that, and latency in general.

Do they even include ping bars? Ghosts removed them.

Ping bars are back. Honestly I did notice some lag issues now and then, but their servers were all messed up yesterday. I would wait until the end of the week before getting a good feel on the lag issues.

Edit: lag was never a game breaking issue when I played, but it was noticeable at certain times

Granted I don't like the direction COD has gone in the past 5 years, but does that disqualify my criticisms?

I would consider my opinion much more objective than someone's who liked Ghosts... and pre-ordered this game before playing it.

I was also wondering this. When maps were well made you could control a map and spawn kill the enemy team, with the mech suit jump it seems map control won't be relevant and spawns would be chaos.

Thats a win for a Call of Duty release honestly. They (activision) had said they were bringing in dedicated servers but it looks like nothing changed. If it isn't "game breaking" though that is better than I expected.

lag is obnoxious right now and yes it is people just running/jumping around. Im not a fan of the shooting mechanics - seems too much like Battlefield. No strategy involved in this game...just jump around and shoot and move as fast as you can. The maps are so tightly spaced and vertical that there is really no other option except to run/jump around. Ill give it another week or so but I might just go back to Destiny's MP.

yeah i never understood that complaint myself. I PREFER the run and gun antics and really enjoyed Titanfall a lot. That said, I am not buying this and will probably just play some more Titanfall.

I contend that the real fun in COD comes from having a group of guys to party up with. I am planning on getting the game when I go to Best Buy next week for printer cartridges and the new Foo Fighters cd. Hopefully a few Tiny Whites will also have it by then.

Strategy in COD is Map Control

There is actually a lot of "strategy" involved in Call of Duty, it just requires a full squad, communication, and maps that aren't built for chaotic "run and gun-spray and pray-shoot someone in the back-get shot in the back" gameplay.
