To be fair, I don't think we gave them as much guns and ammo as many in Congress had been calling for. McCain specifically called for giving AA to the Syrian rebels, which probably would have resulted in a bunch of MH-17s all over the region.

Of course they're going to blame Obama. It's another lose-lose situation for him. If he doesn't continue to take a hard line against ISIS, they're going to call him weak. If he does, when the second American gets his head parted from his body, it's also going to be Obama's fault.

Looks like this is starting to anger more and more people across the globe. It's sad though that it takes an American over small children getting beheaded to get more people talking about it.

The fear-mongering going on right now is absurd. ISIS isn't "coming to America" or any other bullshit like that. They MAY have a better chance at striking in Europe because of the same socioeconomic status of Muslims there that makes it easier to recruit, but that hasn't changed in 15 years.

also, it's silly to worry about because there are native American born people who sympathize with ISIS who wouldn't have to deal with crossing a border.

terrorism is a dumb thing to worry about in general, even during times when terrorism has been at it's worse it still only effects a small number of people. that sounds callous, but we need to stop dissolving civil liberties to stop what amounts to a statistically insignificant danger.

Even before 9/11 you probably couldn't get an unidentified jetliner anywhere near our shore without being shot down, obviously. The only way 9/11 worked then was that they hijacked domestic flights.

But you really couldn't see the possibility of Islamists crashing jets into something on 9/11/14 now that they have stolen 10 of them? Do we have fighter response available to every embassy and consulate on the planet?

I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but I'm glad our intelligence services are allegedly looking out for it.
