I dont think its a false dichotomy to say you can either stop the 3s or stop the layups. At least with our team. I much rather give up3s anyday even to a duke. Obviously we wont shut shooting teams down like we have pitt but making them shoot too many 3s could play in our favor.

you know, I keep wonderin when face is gonna sTROLL in with his down to earth, truthful-but-always-mistimed criticism to pitch a fit. Maybe, it is because this year the expectations were never so high, so he is like, Fuck it.

But, even though this is a nice win, we are driven by streaky guard play. Until we can find at least one consistent scoring option down low, we are a bubble NIT team at best. I get the feeling that this is why Gott had Abu Dabi start tonight.

If we play d like today we will be dandy. When our guards are cold youre still in the game because of d and when they get hot you build a lead and keep it. The other leads in other games werent built on d.

Some teams similar to pitt cincy wvu have minimal talent but still win because they play solid d, rebound, and contest everything.

I'm surprised by the absence of love for his performance in this game. There were multiple plays I had to rewind just to admire them, and he had some great dishes, too--when, according to what I witnessed, he coulda just spun 8.5 times in the air and reliably shot the ball backwards off the glass instead.

Thats an arbitrary number that means nothing. Our big guys need to be concerned with keeping their man out of the paint and grabbing defensive rebounds before they think about ways to increase their own scoring average. Thats what we really need.
