It's always better to just make them sign a ironclad statement and pay them whatever they want assuming its not out of this world. No matter what happens, his career in NASCAR is essentially over thanks to her. NASCAR isn't a stick and ball sport where you can just go back to playing. He will have a hell of a time finding a sponsor.

Quote :
"The Court finds by a preponderance of the evidence that, on September 26, 2014, Respondent [Busch] committed an act of domestic violence against Petitioner [Driscoll] by manually strangling her by placing his left hand on her throat, while placing his right hand on her chin and face and smashing her head into the wall of his motor home"

I want to see this evidence. Unless I missed something all I've ever seen about this case is some he said/she said nonsense. And if thats all their is, its a fucked up situation for a man to lose his career over.

PS: I may be looking to unload a set of tickets to Spring Martinsville. 2 Aisle Seats, few rows from the top in middle of 1 and 2. Perfect spot where you can watch without turning your head. "I forgot the weather was majorly shitty that time of the year when I renewed months ago."

^I got 3 tickets to it when I heard it was gonna be Chase Elliott's first Sprint Cup race. I'm sure it'll be chilly as hell, but i'll manage.

Also, i'd love to see this new found evidence as well. How do you come to this type of conclusion without actually being there? Was there a videocamera setup in the rig or something?

He had a hell of a time getting a sponsor before domestic abuse charges. He was a former NASCAR Cup champion and he spent a season in the 09 car.

Daytona should spend money getting rid of all the grass, instead of building more seats. And maybe add some safer barrier to those inside walls.

^Grass is fine. There was once a day where you could make it through the grass without ripping your car to shreds. That freaking front valence they have on these next gen cars just rips the entire front end off of the damn thing anytime you touch grass. Announcers blame it on the "wet and soggy infield". Bullshit, it could be dry as hell and it would still dig.

The drivers and analysts say that when the car goes through the grass it speeds the car up, that's why some of the tracks like Michigan have gotten rid of the grass along the backstretch infield

We're supposed to believe a preacher?

Grass + slicks = no brakes. It's the same reason most road courses have replaced gravel traps with runoff areas: you can regain control of the car on pavement, but you can't on grass/gravel.

road courses have replaced gravel traps with runoff areas so they don't have to bring their equipment out and tow the cars out of the gravel everytime someone mis judges the corner.

Grass is not the issue...has never been an issue...until they put on these splitters that dig themselves in anytime someone touches grass and rips off the entire front end.

Quote :
" Kurt Busch has never been arrested for allegedly assaulting his one-time girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll, on Sept. 26, 2014, inside his motorhome at Dover International Speedway.

Kurt Busch has never been charged with that crime. Kurt Busch has never been convicted of that crime. Kurt Busch never settled the case, in part, because there is no case to settle. There have been no criminal or civil charges filed against him

What did happen was a commissioner of a family court in Delaware issued an order of protection on Monday to keep Busch away from Driscoll, followed by an explanation of the decision on Friday"

And this was enough to end a mans career???? So essentially what happened is she got a restraining order and NASCAR pulled a NFL to save face. He should go after the "commissioner" for making that statement since there is NO evidence that he touched her, other than word of mouth. If there is evidence were are the criminal charges?

Back to grass

Grass has no place at a racetrack. Sure it looks pretty and you can paint huge corporate logos on it, but the moment a car gets on grass, it might as well be on ice. There is a reason tracks like Pocono, Michigan, California etc have replaced grass with pavement. Look up the Greg Moore crash at California for an example of a guy that would be alive if there was no grass.

Am I the only one that thinks Daytona should have spent that 400 million they are spending on adding more seats, on something else. This is a track that only sells out once a year, so why in the hell does it need more seats? Those seats will be empty at the July race.

I'll comment on the grass/Daytona thing before I comment on the Kurt Busch thing.

Grass/Seating:

First and foremost, they actually CUT the seating. They took down the back stretch stands and are using that to make more front stretch stands. It was necessary and will be a wiser use of money down the road for DIS.

As far as the grass.....3/4 of Kyle Busch's "ride" was on pavement. He was sideways the entire time. So much for that pavement allowing him to correct his car.

As far as Kurt Busch...I posted the following on another website that should state how I feel about the issue:

I'm just glad I don't have a woman that is batshit insane. Just an accusation these days is good enough to ruin your life.

Also, just got around the reading the Delaware online article about the judgement and found some insane yet interesting quotes about this issue that has me puzzled.

Quote :
"A Kent County Family Court Commissioner said it is more likely than not that NASCAR's Kurt Busch committed an act of abuse last September."

More likely than not???? You're ruining a man's life without 100% proof that this occured? What kind of a joke is that nonsense?

Quote :
"Jones also wrote that there could be future acts of abuse against intimate partners because of his "propensity to lose control of his behavior and act out violently in response to stressful, disappointing and/or frustrating situations involving his racing.""

I get stressed and yell all the times at video games, sports games, etc. Does that mean that there could be future acts of abuse again my significant other? I mean...more likely than not, right?

Quote :
"Busch's attorneys said that Driscoll had repeatedly lied on the stand and committed perjury. In his opinion, Jones wrote that he could not find that any conflict or contradiction that constituted perjury. Discrepancies in testimony were likely the result of a misunderstanding or misremembering by Driscoll because of her emotional state, rather than intentional falsehood, Jones wrote."

I don't know about anyone else on here...but i've been through some pretty traumatic events with my family before. Its been YEARS since and I remember every little detail about those events. This chick waited months to report this and now she can't even remember what happened long enough to repeat it the same way twice and this guy just writes that off to her "emotional state"?

Holy Jesus. Kurt is a douchebag and maybe he did do this. But he is getting absolutely drug through the mud for really no reason right now...

compound fracture to the lower left leg.....fracture in his right foot(could have the left/right portion of those extremeties switched).

Tough weekend for the Busch family. Friday night they were both in the 500. Saturday evening, they're both out of NASCAR competition for what will probably be months.

+1, The rush to punishment is only going to make it worse. Look at the Greg Hardy case from last year in the NFL. Guy was suspended an entire year, drug through the mud, and the woman didn't even show up at court so the charges were dropped. There should be no punishments handed out unless you are caught on tape (Ray Rice) or found guilty in court. I can go down to a court and get a restraining order on anyone, just have to have a lawyer and tell some lies.

I agree that there shouldn't be a punishment until a conviction or evidence that leaves you without a doubt. You can't just ruin people's lives without there being some kind of evidence that this happened. For every rape/domestic violence case there is a fake rape/domestic violence case. Its ridiculous.

Moral of the story...don't date crazy bitches.

major clusterfuck in qualifying as the 24, 48, 14, and 20 did not even make a lap and will start from the rear. so many cars failed tech the first pass through there wasnt enough time to get everyone through again perhaps.

not sure how its Nascar's fault that the teams cant get their shit together. I'm sure that if they had delayed qualifying two hours to let everybody get through tech, people would have been bitching about that too.

they need to just go full IROC and let NASCAR provide the cars. that's essentially what NASCAR wants anyway: everyone sitting in an identical car. so lame.

^that's not the issue. Nobody wants to be the first one out in the trucks because the draft is such a big deal. It's a fine line time wise and those that didn't go got bit.

Can't believe they let Suarez do what he did. What he did was blatantly against the rules and they just let it go.

it's not like i make any special effort to watch a race. if i happen to be home and not doing anything when a race/practice/qualifying is on, i will leave it on the tv. growing up, i spent a lot of time in the pits with my dad at local short tracks and some of those guys work for teams now, so it's cool to keep up with how they're doing.
