Eh, tickets were going for $3,500-4,000 per ticket last night on secondary markets. Not sure where all this 5-figure shit is coming from.

^^Oh I was taking it as 5-figures for a ticket.

I mean flights are $900 round-trip, $4000 for seats, I mean, are you really going to drop $5,000 on hotel, food, and "things to do" in a weekend?? Expensive city or not, that seems unrealistic.

http://www.cheatsheet.com/sports/nfl-what-does-it-actually-cost-to-go-to-a-super-bowl.html/?a=viewall

This says last year a Pats fan traveling to see the Pats in Phoenix should expect to pay over $8000, and that's probably the lower end.

My book opens Panthers -3.5, now at -4.5. Fuck Manning (and Rogers), they both have more commercials then completed pass. (being bitter)

^^^ I don't think most people understand how expensive hotels are in SF. Unlike NYC, there just isn't the inventory. During a non-major event, the average price of a room is between $200-$300 for a basic, no frills place. Hotels and AirBnb are going to gouge the ever-loving fuck out of people. I wish I had made plans to escape and be anywhere else, but I think I'll just hunker down and avoid downtown for the next few weeks.

If you stay at UJustWait84's place, you'd be dropping $14,000 just on lodging, and end up in fucking Oakland!

I'm in the unique position where I'm within' reasonable driving distance of SF, have friends there I could stay with, and could probably swing the ticket price but ....... naaaaaaaaaaah. $5k is still a shit ton to spend on something just for me, especially with a pregnant wifey (although she is practically taunting me to go).

^^ $613 is the current average for 3 nights I'm seeing. That number is going to go up for sure. Realistically, if I waited until a few days before, I might be able to get around a grand for three nights from some desperate sucker. I like my apartment too much to risk it though.

Yeah I debated going, but there is no way in my mind I can justify spending 5k on a ticket alone not to mention the other costs. I couldn't imagine a better game to go to other than location so I guess that means barring winning the lottery I will never be going to a super bowl .

The stadium is in Santa Clara, about 40 miles away from SF.

Of course that area completely sucks ass (it's just giant corporate office park), but hotels the in the silicon valley area are gonna be much more affordable than SF, even with the superbowl inflation factored in.

Yes and no. People who don't give a shit about the Super Bowl village and only want to watch the game are going to pay a premium to be so close to the stadium and deal with less traffic. Most people are stupid and won't even bother to look at a map and assume that SC and SF are right next to each other, or think 40 miles equals 40 mins. Your cheapest and best bet is probably to be around Fremont, that way you can take BART into DTSF and you're not that far from Santa Clara. You might save a few bucks by staying in Oakland or Berkeley, but that puts you in basically the same traffic situation as SF.

I also am within driving distance and have friends to stay with, but I can't afford the ticket to the game.

Since it seems like there are a few of us in California, and I know zero other Panther fans in my town, is anyone up for meeting in a different city to watch the game?

Broncos will wear all-white, Panthers will wear black (at least for jerseys). I'm glad because A) rile up the racists and B) I've worn my black Kelvin Benjamin jersey for the other playoff games with positive results, so now I can continue to wear it and match the team.

However, Panthers are 0-2 in playoff games in which they wore black jerseys. Worth noting that the Panthers lost a Super Bowl in white, and the all-black uniform was voted best in league history on NFL.com just a couple of years ago. I don't think it's been announced yet if it will be all black or if the team is wearing silver pants.

Can someone that knows the bay area help me out? Only flight I could get arrives at SFO at 1220. I realize that could be cutting it extra close for a 3:30 kickoff but it's what I have to work with. Whats the best way for me to get directly to the stadium? BART go there? I'm sure uber will be a shit show. anything else? $$ is not too big a deal just need quickest route (and please don't say helicopter)

BART will not take you anywhere near there. Don't fly out of SFO or OAK. SJC is your best bet. If you have no other option, you'll have to take BART to Millbrae to get on Caltrain, which will get you to Santa Clara proper. Then you'll have to pray you can find an Uber/Lyft that isn't surging like crazy to get you to the stadium. You're probably better off walking tbh. Caltrain service is sucky on the weekends, but here:

http://www.caltrain.com/riderinfo/specialevents/SuperBowl50.html

Sounds like a massive headache where tons of things could go wrong, but hey, you might make it.

Renting a car may be cheaper than an Uber in both directions, but then again, parking $$$

OAK is usually a cheaper flight than SFO if you fly Southwest.

Checking out other message boards, Broncos fans really think we have no shot against them. They're saying we won't be able to score and that their D will easily handle our running game and Cam. I mean they very well may, but damn, these people talking like we might as well not show up and just hand Peyton the trophy already.

All year Ive been trying to convince myself that this is a dream and that at some point, the train is going to derail, but it hasnt. At some point were just going to have to trust that no one can stop that O. If anyone could have stopped it, it would have happened by now.

I'm a Bronco fan and don't think that. The only way we can win is if our defense completely shuts down the Panthers' offense because if Denver has to score more than say 24 I don't think the Broncos can win.

I can fly into San Fran, Santa Clara around 10 Friday night or anytime Saturday. Fly out jet blue after the game at 1145 their time or the next day. Only issue now is the ticket, if someone helps me find a legit ticket I'll pay for your flight there or back / or Marriott room. In box me please

Just put down my 'for fun' prop/MVP bets. Was hoping Kurt Coleman would have odds and not be stashed in the field for MVP and was pleased to see him at +15000.

If the panthers win and the offensive guys all have pedestrian stats like they have done from time to time.... I could see Luke taking the MVP or maybe a dark horse like Coleman. Nobody is throwing at Norman too much these days and if Coleman can grab a couple picks, maybe put up a td... I think he's a good value. Field includes KK, Cotch, TD, Shaw, Allen, CJ and all the broncos second tier guys at 33:1. Other notables:

Peyton +275
Luke +1400
Ginn +2000
Demarius, Emmanuel , Olsen, Stewart +2200
JNo +2800
Philly, Gano +6600
Funchess +10000
Tolbert, Coleman +15000

8 bucks on coleman wins me 1200 so why not.

Cam is -130, so what's the point.

I also like Carolina -9.5 at the end of the 1st quarter at +200. Current spread is Panthers -6 and +190 money line.

Sorry for the big post, just fun to see our guys in there. First td scorer of the game is a fun one too with some fatter odds.

^^ I watched the nfl films 22 minute super bowl 38 thing on YouTube today, thinking it would be nostalgically fun/cool/whatever... and it definitely was a bummer.

I have a way better feeling about this game so we'll see. And also, I think this panther team will be good for a long haul. We might see more of these big games over the cam/luke era.

You still aren't understanding me. 101 S is going to be a parking lot on game day. You can shell out $200+ if you want for a private car (I'd look into a car service so you have a guaranteed driver to meet you), but it's still going to take you forever to get to Levi's stadium. I'm not exaggerating when I'm saying it could take up to 3 or 4 hours. On a normal day, it's a good hour to San Jose without traffic from SFO. Have you not looked into fights out of SJC? Seriously, it's pretty close to the stadium and generally less of a shit show than SFO. You do realize that SFO has tons of flight delays due to fog/weather, right?
