I like how Republicans use "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" as the Ace-Card for any policy they want to shoot down but don't have a logical argument.

Ranging from drinking on the sidewalks at local restaurants
Blowing up terrorists in the middle east
Shooting down infrastructure bonds
Rationalizing Draconian Drug Laws

I love how marketing ploys like naming something that sounds like it has to do with infrastructure (e.g., hey let's call it the ConnectNC Bond so people think it actually connects NC with stuff like roads and bridges and cobblestone) actually convinces a majority of voters to vote for a bond having arguably zero to do with funding infrastructure.

It's still good stuff in the bond, its just stuff that if the NC legislature was doing their job then this bond wouldn't be necessary

Good stuff is debatable, but yea I would have rather this gone through the budget process so the debate could be had. Just call me a skeptic whenever so many government actors get together to push something along with multiple contractors who stand to benefit from the myriad construction to follow.

Yeah you made that point on the last page dummy.

And when you feel the need to use words like 'arguably' if means your argument is weak.

Sorry for my arguable duplicatation. Because we all know nothing but the most concise debate takes place in TSB. Bond passed, lock the thread.

Just wanted to quote this important part of the bond for posterity:

"the General Assembly may at this session or at any subsequent session increase or decrease the allocations of the proceeds of public improvement bonds and notes, including premium thereon, if any, for projects set forth in subdivision (1) of this subsection or reallocate any amounts among agencies or projects not listed in this subsection but listed in the six-year capital improvement plan developed pursuant to G.S. 143C-8-5"

So you quite literally voted for nothing other than $2,000,000,000 borrowed on your behalf and a promise from politicians that it'll be spent prudently.
