People pay $$$ for a mattress because you're on it 8+ hours a day. People also pay $$$ for a chair that you sit in all day. I can understand why someone might pay that much for a mat.

But yeah it's mainly that much because it's hand made, etc, etc.

Either way ideally a company would offer things like this to it's employees. I got a much cheaper mat and was allowed to expense it.

If you're in the market but don't need something too fancy, you may be able to get something very economical and high quality if you order a stand like this:

Then get a countertop from lowes/lumber store. Would require some woodscrews and a bit of measuring, but should work just like a "package" option.
