Exactly. Dentists are there to HELP you. Sure, it can be painful or uncomfortable at times, but they clean your mouth for the benefit of your oral health. They can't always help it if they hit a nerve or sensitive spot. Stop being pussies and go complain about a traffic jam or turbulence on an airplane.

BlackSheep, gtf back here! We need details, location

Why even say this when all you've done in this thread is jump to conclusions?

Also, has it occurred to anyone that BlackSheep may have used "dentist" when he actually meant oral surgeon, orthodontist, etc? Seems like that would be a pretty common mistake to make on an afterthought comment on a message board. idk

^ Do you really think she's being completely serious?

This thread does not lend itself to seriousness, honestly.

You, apparently, do.

ok, but that's an oral surgeon. dentists don't take out wisdom teeth.

What gets me is how the officers approached the situation the way they did. The length of time between the detention and the sobriety field exam really weakens the state's case

My dentist is also an oral surgeon. Had wisdom teeth taken out under anesthesia at his office. I was 32. So yea, my dentist did give me anesthesia for a procedure that it should be used for fwiw. Oh, and it was the shit!!

funny you should mention that. i had all four extracted when i was 28. they were all impacted and hadn't bothered me, but i had an abscess and needed emergency surgery. anyway, the first time those drugs were great. i had these crazy visions of being operated on by japanese robots and when i woke up i was apparently speaking in tongues for a bit.

about a year later, one of the roots grew back and got infected AGAIN, so i had to have another emergency oral surgery right around Xmas. it sucked, but the lone highlight was when the drugs hit my veins. i will never try heroin because if it's anything like what i felt, i will be a junkie for life

Thought the exact same thing when the whole thing was over. Versed is a hell of a drug!

I really am curious to see where this whole story begins and ends though. I couldnt imagine driving after that but some dentists will slip ya a Valium to calm you down if you freak about dentistry. I would definitely be able to drive but likely not in the eyes of the law.

For after procedures, I like to tell them that all drugs make me nauseous except for oxycodone.

So now I have a bunch of anti-nausea medication.

[Edited on May 31, 2016 at 4:21 PM. Reason : The nausea med is excellent though.]

That's just it, I think the entire thing was BS. She seemed perfectly fine and I watched her take the Field Test. Seemed like she aced it. So 2 pages and no lawyer suggestions?

Right or wrong, it seems to me that the dentist could be held liable. Just like bars are held liable under dram shop laws if they serve a patron to the point of intoxication and then something horrible happens on account of said patrons intoxication.

But I'm no lawyer...

no, that's a complete sentence.

Sentence fragment.
