So i guess the hornets suck? nobody is talking about them. Are there still 2-3 tarholes on the roster?
I need a new bball team to root for until fantasy baseball season revs back up 1/9/2017 8:45:55 AM |

Hornets were the #3 team in the East before this weekend. But they're on a tough road trip and have lost the first two games.
There too hot and cold and are missing a true big man and backup PG. Hibbert and Kaminsky continue to regress. 1/9/2017 9:03:18 AM |

The road trip brings them a lot of troubles. And many players get injuries after the first two months' sprint which takes them to the 4th place in the east and 1st place in the southeast. This is the price to pay.
And there's not much difference compared with last season, slight changes. Big AL is substituted with Hilbert, Lin is taken by Session. Walker's hero ball is still the key of their winning. MKG is disappointing. They could be in serious problem from now on if there's no surprise coming to the team. ATL already surpass them in the division. 1/9/2017 10:16:40 AM |

They're a good team with good players and a star PG, but there's a few things holding them back:
1. Weak backup PG and C. Sessions is a decent backup, but he's just not gelling with the team for some reason. Marco is basically the backup PG, for better or worse. Hibbert and Hawes are just terrible.
2. Frank's regression. He's doing a lot of good things, but he's forgotten how to shoot 3's all of a sudden. I think he's shooting around %25
Kemba has been fantastic this year -- like, All Pro good -- but he can't do it alone. Batum will always be more of a glue guy than a star player. He definitely makes them a better team, but he can't carry the load when Kemba is out or off.
I heard the Bulls are thinking about rebuilding and trading Jimmy Butler. If the Hornets could find a way to pair him with Kemba, we might have something. 1/9/2017 12:52:58 PM |

Hell, I'd throw in two first-rounders to get Butler in his prime. IIRC, he's 27 and signed through 2020.
Kemba Butler Batum Marv Zeller

Yeah, but they're sort of in No Man's Land. Kind of like the White Sox unloading Chris Sale a couple weeks ago. They were a decent team with him that was going nowhere. Might as well sell high and build for the future.
Rondo and Wade haven't made them any better, and they're floundering at .500 right now. I've actually heard they really want to unload Rondo, so maybe we could take them off their hands along with Butler.
Anyway, I give this deal about a 1% chance of ever happening. But MJ does love him some Bulls 1/10/2017 12:56:51 PM |

No Rondo. We don't need another short PG. Dwight Howard should have been a big piece added last season, but he's gone to ATL. I think that's the main reason ATL catching up from behind now. 1/10/2017 2:11:54 PM |

It's a nice trade to stop the bleeding. He fits perfect schematically.
He's excellent in the PNR on offense and he can score or pass as the roll man.
On defense he won't get lit up like a Christmas tree on the PNR like hibbert.
Hawes was awful on both ends.
Really what this does is allows kemba and batum to run the PNR like they do best. We couldn't run it with hibbert at all because he was too slow to set a screen let alone roll.
Should free up more good 3pt looks for marv/kaminsky by having a credible roll man.
When zeller comes back we have a pretty good team now. Should solidify our playoff chances.
It actually gives us more room potentially because we get the full $8.4 MLE next year now plus we have a $3M trade exception from the troy daniels RFA this offseason.
If we could package bellinelli OR lamb with sessions expiring deal for a better backup PG we would be in business.
Unfortunately we are virtually mathematically eliminated from all but the #7 and #8 seed this year so we will probably get cleveland, Washington, or boston. We had a great shot vs toronto 2/2/2017 9:47:19 PM |

I realize that draft was pretty weak, but felton should never have been a top 5 pick. Then they compounded it taking Lardass with their second first round pick.
Plus that was when everyone realized that Bob Johnson gave no shit about winning and just wanted to sell tickets, pandering to the tar heels. 5/17/2017 5:56:31 PM |

So which tarhole are the tarnets taking tis' time?
As a huggggeeee fan of the Hornets growing up, I am sorely disappointed at the constant stream of UNC garbage, and worthless boring big men drafted every year. I just can't get into these new hornets. They just don't have the same heart. The sharp needly logo they use now looks straight out of the XFL too, so lame. Should of stayed with the old school, like the celtics little Irish guy. We should have stayed with 80's bball belly hornets logo. At least it had some tradition and winning connected with it.
I wish Jordan would sell the team.
Preferably to Wendell Murphy.

It's fine if you don't like the draft picks and style of play and all that. But the "tarnets" is not only kinda lame, it's also not relevant or accurate.

They have had 5-6 heels even if they didn't draft them. Hansbrough, Hairston, Marvin Williams.. Although unc put a lot of guys into the league, so maybe everybody's had 5 over the past 10-15 years 5/20/2017 9:14:34 PM |

While Bob Johnson seemed to think drafting both Felton and May would sell tickets, I think he and/or Jordan realized that that was stupid, and they've been trending downwards. McGinnis was also on the team at one point which is inexcusable. He was literally the worst starting PG in the entire league one year. But the most recent player they drafted was Branden Wright, who they traded on draft day. Hansbrough was basically the 15th guy on the roster and he rarely played, and Marvin isn't as annoying as most of their guys. So yeah, the Tarcats thing used to have some validity, but not like HOOPS makes it sound. 5/20/2017 9:31:13 PM |

Lol they have had a tarhole on the team basically since day1 . They went out of their way to put Hamdsdoosh on the team, quite possibly the most annoying awful UNC player of all time.
