UPS sucks. I missed the truck by just a few minutes. (not their fault) Verizon requires signature so I went online and tried to re-route it to the hub where I can pick it up. Went up there to get it right before the hub closed (8pm) and they said the truck was gonna come after 8 so I have to come back tomorrow. Maybe the hub should be open later if the trucks arent back??? FWP. 9/22/2016 9:04:08 PM |

Went to the store yesterday and ended up grabbing a 7+Black 256. I love it. The new home "button" works a lot better with iOS 10 than my 6s did. This is my first time with the + size, i really like it. All of the crowding from the bigger notifications and lock screen work out a lot better than they did on my 6s. Don't really care about no headphone jack, especially if it makes the phone more waterproof and stronger. Though, I'm sure ill loose the adapter at some point...i guess it's time to upgrade my car so i can have bluetooth and not worry about headphone jack. 9/23/2016 11:04:26 AM |

Ah, that's weird you have to open the app. No big deal I suppose, I use the app a lot too. But do you have to have the app open the whole time that the photos are uploading? Or does it just have to be open in the background?9/23/2016 12:46:23 PM |

^^^If Apple is so great, why do they have to ditch the headphone jack to make their phones waterproof? My Edge has a headphone jack and an sd slot, and it is still water and dust resistant. 9/23/2016 3:54:31 PM |

I usually just open it once in a while when I am on Wi-Fi and it goes pretty quick. iOS seems to be better at managing background processes to conserve battery, that might be why. I just noticed that whenever I open the app it starts uploading the pics.9/24/2016 6:39:39 PM |

They can't even design something that doesn't have a protruding battery?

I think that is a better design than most of the other battery cases. Did not buy it though. I got the chinese one that was way bigger, weighed like 10lbs, and cost like 70% less. 9/25/2016 3:33:35 PM |

Had my 7 for a couple of weeks. It's no game changer, but VZ offered me $659 for my 6 that got dunked in salt water a few months ago, so I figured I ought to take that deal.
The processor benchmarks are nasty, and I like the new home button, for whatever that's worth. No headphone jack is...whatever. It could pave the way to better audio, but right now, I think all it buys you is better waterproofing, which is no insignificant. It is slightly annoying to not be able to charge and listen to music at the same time, but that hasn't really been a major problem so far.
It's pretty incremental for a non-S year, but it's good.
EXCEPT, has anyone been having issues where, at least a couple of times per day, they totally lose cell signal, in areas where it should be strong? It lasts for a few minutes, and then bam, back to 4-5 bars (dots). That is getting annoying as hell. 10/8/2016 5:12:24 PM |

What do you mean better audio? The current lightening port doesn't offer any better audio then an audio jack. By the time the signal comes out of the phone to a wired headphone it's analog. You're not getting any audio gains from removing the headphone jack. Nor is a traditional headphone jack limiting audio quality in any way.
Also dropping the headphone jack I doubt had anything to do with waterproofing. The Samsung phones have had IP68 water proofing and they all have headphone jacks. The iPhone 7 only has IP67 (slightly lower standard).

The argument is that with the phone outputting digital audio, you can put a higher quality DAC somewhere else downstream in the chain. However, the digital ports on all smartphones could do this be they USB, thunderbolt, lightning, etc... You're just losing an option and not gaining new feature. It probably does make waterproofing easier however. They say they can make the phones thinner, but in my opinion, they're thin enough. I already have trouble holding on to some models. They should say it makes more room for battery. 10/10/2016 4:23:03 PM |

Hmm yeah I've been using an external DAC on my Android (and previously iPhone) devices for years. There's no gain in functionality with this move which some people make it sound like. 10/10/2016 4:32:32 PM |

I got salt water all over my iPhone 7 and apparently in the charging port. It was plugged it to the charger when Iw was still drunk from the boat trip. The charging cable definitely got smoked the end of the lightning connector was brown and black. I then said fuck it and rinsed the hole out with fresh water, let it dry overnight and got a new cable the next day. It has worked like a champ ever since.
This is officially the best phone since Nextels. 10/18/2016 3:54:45 PM |

Or like all the other phones that have a higher IP68 rating that have been on the market for years maybe?
--Did anyone get a Apple Watch 2 yet? Played with one the other day. The addition of the GPS, sapphire screen, and waterproofing are great.

^I ordered a 42mm Series 2 Aluminum Case for myself and a 38mm Series 2 Aluminum Case for the girlfriend as soon as they started accepting orders. Looking back on it if I could do it again I would of bought the Series 1 just to save $200. I misunderstood what the Series 1 was. I was thinking it was just the original Apple Watch rebranded and I didn't want the only processor due to performance issues So that's my fault for not paying better attention. My reasoning for going with the Series 1 would of been neither of us are swimmers. Even if we were I highly doubt we would wear a $400 smart watch in the pool. Also the built in GPS doesn't really matter to me because I always have my phone with me. With that said if you're looking for a smartwatch to track your fitness without having your phone nearby then the Series 2 is the obvious choice.
As far as functionality the watch works great. Phone calls sound like they would if you were to use speakerphone on your iPhone. Messaging works fairly well. Some minor issues with voice recognition and sometimes scribble doesn't pick up on what letter or symbol I am drawing. But overall I can't complain about the performance of the watch itself. Battery life is hit or miss depending on your settings. Really depends on what notifications you have opted to receive on the watch, how many notifications you're actually receiving, and obviously how much you use the watch during the day. I only have text messages, phone calls, and activity notifications coming to my watch. I start at 0600 with 100% and usually by 2200 I'm down to 45-50%. All an all I like the watch, but I don't really think it's worth wasting the money on it. 10/28/2016 12:44:17 PM |

Is the Apple Pencil going to work with the iPhone at some point? My 7+ is on order I have a 12inch iPad Pro that I use for invoicing but I'd like to use the square app on the phone and have customers sign for payment. 11/2/2016 6:35:48 PM |

can't you use pretty much any generic smartphone stylus for that? why a $99 item for a specific use case that can be achieved with a $1 item? 11/7/2016 10:34:26 AM |
