End of the first half, Clemson up 8, State ball. Gott tells the guys "one shot", i.e. don't let Clemson get another possession. Henderson tries to be Kobe, misses contested lay-up, Clemson gets a run-out and hits an uncontested 3. So instead of being down potentially 5-6 pts, 8 at worst, we go to half down 11.

If I were Gott, Henderson would sat his ass on the bench the rest of the game.

see that's the problem though. Henderson went out and started the second half...Gott just really hasn't held the guys accountable by benching them after doing something. i'm not saying we need Bob Knight on the sidelines, but don't be afraid to discipline a player after he fucks up.

The best coaches are the ones that care about their players but are also stern and principled. Like a grandfatherly figure in a way in that it is somebody you really respect and want to learn from. Not your buddy, not an abusive stepfather, and not somebody you can take advantage of. I feel like Gott wasn't principled and didn't lead by example and the players didn't respect him. Sid was more of a friend and not a leader.
