personally i dont really think any (healthy) players should sit out a bowl -- so much can happen with the draft, and its pretty ludicrous IMO to think that you can outsmart freak injuries. i have no way of quantifying it, but on the whole i think sitting out does more damage than its worth.

maybe if you are consensus top 5...but with another 5 months of opportunity to nitpick every player, the consensus top picks will look different than we all think now.

I don't think any potential first round pick should play in any non-playoff bowl. It's a terrible business decision.

The only candidates on our team to sit-out of the bowl game are: Harmon, Finley, Pratt, and maaaaybe Meyers.

Feels like if you aren't slightly injured(Pratt this year, Adams last year) or a 1st round lock(Chubb last year), then you should probably play. Harmon isn't a 1st round lock though he is getting some mocks in the late 1st or early 2nd. I could see him sitting.

I think Harmon will be a first round pick. He's a complete WR. Meyers could move up as he goes through the draft process as he can showcase his athleticism.

Pratt and Finley aren't going to be early draft picks, so they don't have the incentive to sit out.

One bowl game ain’t moving anybody up or down the draft board significantly. Sitting out the bowl game is more about not risking unnecessary injury than not needing to improve draft stock.

Yes but the risk is significantly less for non-1st round picks, monetarily speaking. That's really what sitting out is about. And potential 3rd/4th/5th round picks don't stand to lose millions by playing.

I mean...I don’t know who all has sat out. But Bradley Chubb did. Didn’t hurt his draft stock. Fournette did it. He was drafted 4th overall. Mccaffery did it. He was drafted 8th.

I know there’s way more examples. I just remembered those guys off the top of my head. Don’t think there’s much downside to it if you’re a 1st rounder.
