I could see them doing something just like that, considering this is the culmination of 10 years and probably the end of an era with regard to the current characters. Pulling out all the stops for misdirection and marketing would be totally in-bounds. I could be wrong, but it seems like disney is the time of company where information is released when and how they say.

Spoiler free review: it lived up to the hype. Incredible movie and worthy conclusion. Sidenote: no end credits scene, but there is a subtle “easter egg” sound bite at the very end.

Didn’t care for the first 35 minutes or so

Really didn’t care for the end. Thanos went from the protagonist of the first movie to just a poorly used prop in this one.

Still a fun conclusion to ten years of these movies but I thought they could have done better. A lot of the resolution felt very cheap, even for a comic book movie.

^Hell some of the local news sites couldn't even sit on the GOT spoilers from last night. I had to wait until this afternoon to watch GOT, but when I got up to get ready for work this morning, this shit was in my FB feed **FUCKING SPOILER ALERTS IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED LAST GAME OF THRONES EPISODE**:

Only thing that I found a little too questionable was the very end, where old cpt America showed up. Seems like if he came back and lived his life in the present timeline this would have been historical record. This breaks the generally very consistent use of time travel through the rest of the movie. Unless they DID make the previous movies this way and it was a detail I missed.

I strongly disagree with wherever said thanos was a cheap prop. I think they handled his arc across timelines extremely well— brilliantly in fact

Also I think there’s some irony in how the “gimmick” with time travel in GOT Sort of mirrors avengers— the character that knows what’s going to happen can’t say or they risk something else happening.

I don’t hold this against the movie at all but I don’t personally buy that If half the world randomly disappeared things would be so desolate. It’s hard to predict the psychological toll but functionally things should pick back up relatively quickly.

I hated the beginning, specifically trying to make us care about Hawkeye and assuming the audience knew 1) Who Captain Marvel was, and 2) How she hooked up with the Avengers.

I also thought Ant-man was the perfect plot device to catch the audience up on what the Infinity Stones are. Sure, you can assume most people seeing this movie have been following along pretty closely and know what they are. But this movie raked in $1.2B in its first weekend; there are going to be some viewers who are only seeing it because everyone is talking about it.

I'm ready for these films to scale back. This is as big as one of these movies needs to be.

I don't see how, he could just live a quiet life and not get involved in anything. Also, I don't think Old Captain is the same as Young Captain

Captain America A goes back in time, stays there, and lives in Alternate Universe B. Meanwhile, in Universe C, another Captain goes back in time and his timeline is Timeline A
