It's not really historic though. It's attempting to tie a team record. Like if you're not a Yankees fan this is completely meaningless. In these modern times, if people wanted to watch a Yankees baseball game, they would be watching the Yankees baseball game and not a college football game. Breaking into a close live game in the middle of plays and switching to baseball audio is ridiculous.I hope they do live look ins on other sports during playoff baseball games. Although it would have to be an incredibly long look in to have a chance to interrupt any scoring.
9/24/2022 11:15:31 PM
it’s more than a team record and you know that
9/24/2022 11:32:22 PM
I don't really think it matters if people watch the home run beyond entertainment. People, including me, miss out on sporting events they want to see bc of access all the time. It's not super high on my priority list.Either the football fans were going to be mildly inconvenienced or the football/baseball fans were going to be mildly inconvenienced. Baseball only fans were fucked I guess. I had to stream the NC State game, lucky I had a compatible cable or id have to make a choice to pay or not. [Edited on September 24, 2022 at 11:50 PM. more eyes on a potential historic home run is a good thing, regardless of a viewers opinion on baseballthat’s been what this has all been about, and you dudes are tripping over yourselves to troll/arguehad tww been around in 1998, I’m sure you’d be making the same argument over a shitty late-90’s Fox comedy being pushed aside over Mark McGwire chasing Maris’ record [Edited on September 25, 2022 at 12:01 AM. three dudes were claiming that 61 home runs don’t matter, I posted that 61 home runs matter, yet I supposedly started the argument
9/25/2022 12:17:33 AM
Yes when 3 people have one opinion and you say "no, my opinion" then you are indeed starting the argument. And why should i give a shit about what's good for MLB if I don't care about MLB? "people who would like to see _____" fits in with my baseball fan argument. The basis of your argument is essentially "lol i want people to see this even if it is annoys a bunch of people, fuck them." both cases are literally mild inconveniences. I'm stating that, you've turned it into a "whats wrong with wiht out country" moment or some shit.I realize that it’s all an act at this point, but come on, man
9/25/2022 12:23:29 AM
you just admitted that you don’t give a shit about anyone other than yourselfI’m pointing out that there are more people watching than youthis is why I brought up your politics. it’s about more people than you being mildly inconvenienced.at a base level, your argument is, “fuck you, I’m good”, which is the Republican argument for everything there is no act from me, as I’m being sincere. I know that you aren’t at this point[Edited on September 25, 2022 at 12:37 AM. Reason : .]
9/25/2022 12:29:33 AM
I admitted that? When? There are also more people watching than you. If it were possible, I would bet large amounts that your take is in the heavy minority. How many people were happy for the cut ins vs annoyed, the only difference between our arguments is you favor the first group and I favor the 2nd. If espn/ABC had NOT showed live look ins, I would again have bet large amounts that almost nobody would have complained "why doesn't this football game have any live look ins at aaron judge??"[Edited on September 25, 2022 at 12:42 AM. 9/25/2022 12:37:06 AM
literally everything you quoted isn’t readily available to people without the means to watch themif a kid who is a baseball fan who would otherwise be unable to see the potential historic home run gets to see it, that’s a very good thing even if it’s just one kid, that far outweighs your mild inconvenience of a split screen
9/25/2022 12:40:44 AM
9/25/2022 12:43:37 AM
they don’t have the rights to air the game, but they’re able to do live look-ins when warranted did you forget that the game was being broadcast over-the-air nationally on ABC, and not on ESPN?
9/25/2022 12:47:18 AM
Espn did the same exact thing
9/25/2022 12:49:49 AM
the Clemson-Wake game wasn’t on ESPNESPN doesn’t have the rights to broadcast a Saturday MLB game, either[Edited on September 25, 2022 at 12:52 AM. Reason : .]
9/25/2022 12:51:35 AM
So its OK that Texas fans were annoyed since that was on ESPN not abc?Did ESPN do live look ins last night? I genuinely don't know
9/25/2022 12:53:37 AM
no, because Apple had exclusive rights to last nights gamesand fuck Texas fans and their racist as fuck fight song. don’t give a shit about their complaints over anything [Edited on September 25, 2022 at 12:56 AM. Reason : .]

9/25/2022 12:56:00 AM
not outraged by anythingjust like calling bullshit when I see it
9/25/2022 12:57:38 AM
Have fun with that
9/25/2022 12:59:21 AM
I hope we beat Clemson next week.
9/25/2022 1:09:52 AM
Fellas. What if a slumping Aaron Judge is still looking for #61 next Saturday night? During the State game. And i know what you’re thinking, “the Yankees game is at 1pm that day”. And you’re right. But. What if there’s a rain delay? It could happen. Devin Leary back to pass, he sees pressure. Steps up in the pocket. He’s got a man - but first let’s check in on Aaron Judge.

Why exactly did we try a fake field goal when we were up 31-3???Also, the announcer said a defensive play late in the game was like a Manny Bates block. How dare him mention a traitor like Bates.

I don’t necessarily think baseball sucks. But the gatekeeping and the unwritten rules and the fun police associated with baseball definitely fucking suck
9/26/2022 5:26:36 PM
Also the incredibly slow pace vast amount of dudes just standing around. It's the same reason i don't watch golf, and to a slightly lesser extent, soccer.]
9/26/2022 5:34:44 PM
Soccer's the best for that imo: least breaks in play, consistently over in less than 2 hrs.In football 80% of game time is spent waiting for something to happen. Basketball at least has action when the clock is running, but tons of stoppages, especially late.
9/26/2022 5:43:29 PM
y'all keep this same energy when Avent's Acolytes are competing for the CWS
9/26/2022 5:49:16 PM
I fairweather State baseball for that very reason. I just don't have the energy to follow ALL the sports anymore. I used to follow the White Sox and the league in general, just lost my interest over the years.Tbh my response is the same when they splitscreen another football game if the primary one is active.

9/26/2022 6:42:14 PM
9/26/2022 6:54:46 PM
Basketball has way more stops in play. And many half court offenses have guys mostly standing around watching the ball
9/26/2022 6:57:16 PM
I just found out that people actually measure this for soccer, something called "effective playing time" and all the big soccer leagues have like 30-40 minutes of game time that are actually spent not playing.
9/26/2022 7:46:24 PM
An nba game is 48 min but lasts 2-2.5 hrsNFL games are 60 min but last 3 hrs
9/26/2022 8:15:06 PM
and they're both way more entertaning than watching a soccer match
9/26/2022 9:00:25 PM
I agree for nc state sports! (not the "way" part I guess) Soccer is 3rd And to each their own, just responding to "pacing"[Edited on September 26, 2022 at 9:09 PM. Reason : E]

Funny, all the Panthers fans (I assume) in the comments section are all saying "I wanna see it when it happens," meanwhile I have seen literally zero CFB fans say that.If nothing else in that organization is going right, at the very least their social media team still wins. There were multiple signs at college gameday last Saturday roasting ESPN for doing it. Didn't get any pics but one said "We interrupt this sign for a live look at Aaron Judge"[Edited on October 4, 2022 at 7:25 PM. Reason : ed]
10/4/2022 7:24:51 PM
that account has no connection to the franchise
10/5/2022 1:00:12 AM
Oops, my bad. The Panthers official usually do have a good social media team, and I'd imagine the people commenting are still Panthers fans, so the rest of my point still stands
