The targeting rule is garbage half the time it is called. One thing that really pisses me off about college football. Way to keep the home win streak alive!!!

That has to be the dumbest game I’ve seen in a long time…maybe ever! The punt. Leary getting hurt, so we basically run a 1940s offense all 2nd half. Then on our final punt we took a delay of game instead of kicking a 50+ yarder. FSU declined the delay of game to dare us to kick the FG. Doeren didn’t take the bait. Then the targeting. Then the INT. My god!

It’s such a bad rule. The intent is great. But if you only ever call it on defenders and not ball carriers that consistently lower their head into contact, then the rule is 100% performative and not actually doing anything for player safety. The way it’s enforced, it’s only about protecting offensive players.

I don’t think we match up particularly well with any team that can put up 40+ in a game. As good as our defense is, in modern CFB elite offense beats elite defense most times. We just don’t have the offense to keep up with in a shootout

^^That's my concern as well.

^if it was a home game I'd feel more confident about Syracuse. Our offense hasn't shown the ability to do dick against P5 schools. Pretty concerning.

Yeah. Undefeated. Mostly untested. Only road game so far was at UConn. They got the OC that was at UVa last year when Armstrong was putting up insane numbers.

^ I do think our LBs put us in position to actually really slow Wake’s RPO mesh thing down. But “slowing” Wake down still means they’ll score 28+
