I really like Tilburgs's Dutch Brown Ale, but it seems to have disappeared. I looked last week at Total Wine, Peace St, and Harris Teeter. They all said they haven't had any for a few weeks now. I WANT MORE! 3/17/2009 11:03:53 AM |

i really don't understand how someone drinking a beer they enjoy makes them a pretentious prick just because it costs more than PBR or Busch Light. maybe you can explain that to me 4/12/2009 3:44:44 PM |

^^^because i think of the kind of people that i see drinking "artisan beers" and that sort of thing, and i think, my god, is that what i've become? to me it's like the difference between people who drink coffee and people who drink half-caf-no-whip-superdrip-americano-frappe-latte-bullshit] 4/12/2009 3:50:21 PM |

it's not like that at all, it's more like people who drink folgers or sanka as opposed to people who drink coffee from Larry's beans (or whatever other good coffee brand). Just cause you have good taste doesn't mean you had to be a pretentious dick.

really, you'd have to live in boone. you'd have to know the microbrew/artisan brew crowd here. you'd have to deal with more and more bars dropping things like yuengling and killians (which have the right balance of potability and affordability) for things like some stupid microbrew irish red that isn't even as good as killians and costs twice as much.
i mean, i actually like fat tire, but the macados up here did away with the pbr tallboys so they could stock it. if its friday night and i want to get hammered, i'd much rather have pbr tallboys. 4/12/2009 4:51:00 PM |

Last night I tried a Brooklyn Intensified Coffee Stout. It is on tap at The Busy Bee downtown. I think it is 8.5% and tastes just like espresso. If you like coffee/stout beers you'll like it, very delicious 4/16/2009 10:05:11 AM |

And my new favorite White/Wheat beer:

I'm the same way. I keep a case of Busch Lite and grab a few bottles of nice beer from the convenience store near the Avent Ferry Liquor Store or from Harris Teeter. I don't care about the taste of the beer if I'm hammered so might as well stick to beer-water.4/16/2009 11:12:43 AM |
