How can you buy most of the DLC and not get Rush??? Those are fun as hell on drums.

Because I can't stand that guys voice. Even if it's not the same guy, he's still trying to sound like him, and I just won't pay for my ears to be abused like that.

Rush's singer is too annoying, yet you downloaded 30 seconds to mars and all-american rejects??

Not disagreeing with you, b/c Rush's singer is pretty awful, but at least the rest of their music is good.

^WTF is that shit? Besides their voices not being all that weird, the 30 seconds to mars and AAR songs are fun as hell to play.

I didn't say their voices were weird, they're straight up annoying. And I agree, they are fun to play. Which is all that really matters. I find some of the worst songs in this game are the most fun to play.

Annoying? I don't get it. They're good songs through and through, but everyone has their opinion...

I hate the strum on the rock band guitar, maybe it's the way I play or something but I just can't play as fast as I did on guitar hero. Luckily, I have it for 360 and I've heard that I can use a Guitar Hero controller for it. Does it matter which guitar or can I use either of the guitar hero guitars? Cause I'm thinking I'm gonna go find a cheap one somewhere to use since I have GH3 for Wii.

so will any usb hub work for rock band? I plan on buying the drums seperate and using my two guitar hero controllers. then the headset until I can get an XLR to USB cable from ebay.

Not as long as people keep buying it like hotcakes.

If they make it any cheaper right now it'll undermine their accessories. Hell, drum kits are like $80 and guitars are like $60-70...so it'd be silly for them to discount the special edition packs right now below 160 much.

Idk if they still do, but a week or two ago Circuit City had it for $150 on their website, Best Buy easily price matched it for me.

does the game itself come sealed inside of the rock band package? Would walmart take the set back if the game remained unopened? =x

Why don't you call another Wal-Mart (not the one you'd return it to) and ask like you were going to do it today?

"So I've got this Rock Band set, and the game is unopened, but..."

I just connected to xbox live for the first time ever, can I spend the achievement points I've been collecting for the last couple years to buy songs or do I just have to pop that visa?

I'm sure the answer is around here somewhere but if someone could just tell me I'd appreciate it

Achievement points are for nothing except to say that you have XXXX points

You have to buy microsoft points to purchase any DLC that isn't free

That new Fallout boy song on DLC is nice, but its pretty gay that they bleep out Goddamn. I mean sure its explicit, but if its in the MIDDLE of the refrain repeated over 15 times then if you can't include it move on to another song.

Gay.

you can sing it if you want... there is no penalty.

although there should be a penalty for liking Fall Out Boy.

I think they just use whatever radio edit they are provided, because censorship in this game so far has been a mixed bag.

That song's okay, but I was pissed when my friend chose that song (his 360) over Zero from SP to download.

I also noticed censoring in "Welcome Home"

Zero might be the most fun song in the game so far. Not getting it is a crime and you should've cockslapped your friend for being a douche.

well, Zero is also censored. (Bullshit fakers...)

That one is actually the worst offender to my ears, since it is just left blank. At least Creep replaces "so fucking special" with "so very special" or something to that effect.

I wish they'd come up with a way to offer uncensored versions of the songs (maybe alongside the radio edits?) That way peeps could still keep with the "T" rating of the game if they choose to do so.

i'm playing through drums on Expert right now (~90% through the main game, ~50% of my DLC). It really makes a lot of the tracks much funner. Both Yeah Yeah Yeah songs are ridiculously fun, and of course RUSH.

Me and my buddy played Maps on expert last night (me on lead, he on drums) and while I found it somewhat boring he said it was the most fun he'd had on drums yet.

Ah yes, forgot about the bullshit fakers on Zero.

Boston - Peace of Mind is one of my favorites on drums too

The NIN pack is a great drum pack, but it is hard as hell.

The Weezer song isn't edited. The first word of the entire song is goddamn. I don't understand why some songs are edited and others aren't.

^^^ I think it's mostly the repitition. Like you can get away with saying "fuck" once or twice in a PG-13 flick, after that it gets the "R".

They just take whatever radio edit they're given, so basically they are bound by the FCC.

important question:

http://gear.ign.com/articles/863/863447p1.html
anybody buy this nyko guitar? i noticed it didn't have any solo buttons. but maybe this mod would work for it?
http://www.rockbandmods.net/guitar/rock-band-solo-button-swap-mod

after some more googling, i found:
http://www.handhelditems.com/ps3ps2-double-range-freedom-wireless-guitar-controller-p-12696.html
http://store.theantcommandos.com/Double-Range-Guitar-Controller-for-PS2-and-PS3-p/drv-wl-blkv3.htm
seems nobody has one yet. but i want.

after playing rock band, i have no desire to ever go back to a guitar with raised buttons...so much easier to do runs and just get the feel of the song with the RB guitar

^I'm the same way. I play rock band at my friend's house and at first I didn't like it that much compared to the GH guitar I have at my place. However, now I like it better and find its easier to keep track of where my fingers are.

Got 100% on Maps on expert (lead guitar) last night!

I know its Maps, but still, never easy to get every single note.

that's true. I mostly play drums, so it's even harder to get 100% IMHO. I've got mostly 5*'s and a few gold starts, but never hit 100% until last night (granted, it was I Think I'm Paranoid, but still).

also, d/led Kool Thing last night and HOLY SHIT it's hard.
