No, he called his shot. They're calling a "called shot" a called shot.

Between overtimes, Pierre overheard him saying he'd score. And he did.

if the lame-ass penguins didn't use players who are full of blood the refs wouldn't feel the need to make girly calls like that

definitely. the goalie interference calls were definitely questionable but didn't result in a goal. on the other hand, you have to call a high stick that draws blood a 4 minute penalty

^True...goalie interference calls were pretty bullshit calls (though by the rulebook it was halfway legit), but they had no effect on the game. Fleury was amazing tonight(esp in OT)- thats why the Red Wings lost.

Yeah, I remember that. Didn't he get a penalty shortly afterwards? I went to bed after 2nd OT but recorded 2 hours after that and got up early this morning to watch. Good way to start out the day.

Fuck DET. They were interviewing the fans, most said they were happy to lose game 3 - so they could win the cup at home. Arrogant douchefags got what they deserved.

Don't piss off the hockey gods.

haha seriously

I don't claim to be a hockey expert by any means but how was that not a penalty

you can tell people that know stuff about hockey thought it was a penalty considering how the announcers complained about the goalie interference calls but didn't say shit about the last one

Of course the final high stick was a penalty. But a lot led up the game being in the condition it was at the end.

They let a lot of shit go to call those 2 goaltender interferences. Pens were flopping on the ice all over the place, might have just been the bad ice though...

Last night’s thrilling Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on NBC earned a 4.3 overnight rating and an 8 share (8 p.m.-12:45 a.m. ET), the best overnight rating for a Stanley Cup Final Game 5 in six years (2002 – Carolina-Detroit, 4.5/8) and the best for an NHL game on NBC since NBC reacquired the NHL in 2004. The rating, which peaked at a 5.8/10 from 11-11:30, was up 79 percent over last year’s Game 5 on NBC (Anaheim-Ottawa, 2.4/4).

52% and 48% of TVs that were active in Pittsburgh and Detroit respectively were watching the game.
