Actually I played all through high school. When it is the first game of the season and 7 minutes left, do what you want. Is it better to keep ramming it down a tired defense throat running the ball? a clear winner is different than someone being knocked out cold. if you're in a street fight, the fight is probably obviously over BEFORE someone got knocked out so yes if the guy was already knocked out it would be a dick move to keep punching him Because the FIGHT would be over. Before that he would have just been out of hte fight bu hte fight wouldnt be over

Jaybee, to make your analogy correct they should just punt on 1st and 10. Again, running the ball is just as physically draining to us if not more then passing, especially if they are getting first downs.

I for one, would rather a team score 10000 points against me, then line up on first down with significant time in a game and punt.

It is just sad and misdirected anger to be mad at the OTHER team for PLAYING WELL through 4 quarters. And why I also feel this way, first game of the season and they have their backup qb in.

And passing covers more ground and can get a team off the field quicker. With the new clock rules, there isn't much difference between it, and if they complete the pass what is the difference.

In terms of running up the score, I totally tolerate it in football.

They're risking a turnover when they throw a long pass to get extra points. They're just playing football. And it seems fairl.


In basketball, when a totally dominant team up thirty continues to play aggressive defense/foul with the hopes of a steal and a dunk...I get annoyed.
