yet another incredibly retarded post from Wolfood98. You do realize that there is ZERO possibility of Wilson playing 4 years of football right? Why would he stay for a 5th year after he already graduated to continue playing a sport he has virtually no prospect of playing professionally, when he could enter the MLB draft as a early round draft pick? I don't know why I continue to respond to your nonsense, as we've already established that you are retarded.

The only differences that I see is that he's slightly undersized and playing at a program that's been under the national radar currently (and historically). It's no different than Rivers getting overshadowed by Manning and Jason White just b/c he was on a mediocre team with a shitty defense." |
while I understand what you're getting at, what exactly do you expect? Wilson is treated VERY kindly by the media. He is almost always portrayed in a positive, golden boy light. He's the main reason our team is being considered as a possible ACC contender this year. What more do you want? You want him to be on espn and have interviews done? I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter how good you are as an individual if your team doesn't win games. Until that time(which hopefully comes this year) you will not see Russell Wilson interviewed on espn or get much face time at all. That's the difference between Tim Tebow and Russell Wilson.

It's actually a very different situation. Jason White wasn't half the football player Rivers was. Wilson isn't (yet) half the player Tebow is. Wilson's physical tools might compare favorably to Tebow's, but get real motherfucker: Wilson is a second year starter in the weak-ass ACC; Tim Tebow is winning national championships out of the SEC. Wilson has a long, long way to go.

Southern Pigskin ranks us t he 4th best Defensive Line in the ACC:
Quote : | "4. NC State - The Wolfpack boast four senior starters, most notably end Willie Young. An athletic edge rusher, he has 12 sacks the past two seasons. Young is an emotional player and the front line catalyst for NC State. Alan-Michael Cash is a very active interior defender at tackle as his 63 tackles indicate. He added 7.5 tackles for loss." |

^^dude, we can resolve this amongst ourselves. I like how you come in to this thread and try to be a nazi all of the sudden even though there are hundreds of instances of pissing matches where you don't do anything at all. For instance the Slave Famous vs. Jaybee debacle yesterday where you did nothing. Either moderate or don't, but at least be consistent.

Matt Hayes of Sporting News picked us to be one of the most improved teams this season:
Quote : | "5. NC State Wolfpack, plus-3 2008: 6-7 2009: 9-4 Here's why: Maybe this is the plan all athletic directors should follow: Hire a terrific recruiter to build personnel, and when it eventually fails, hire a teacher/disciplinarian. As bad as it looked early last fall, the players and new coach Tom O'Brien -- the most underrated coach in the game -- finally clicked in the second half and the 'Pack won four of their last five. Terrific sophomore QB Russell Wilson is a dynamic threat, but this team badly needs TB Toney Baker -- who missed most of the last two seasons with a knee injury -- and incoming freshman James Washington to create balance with the running game. ^TOB doesn't really believe in having a set depth chart going into summer practices. Eugene and Baker are coming back from an injury, and I think Barnes is going to be one of those utility guys that is like our Sproles/L. Washington(makes big plays here and there out of the backfield). If I had to guess right now, with everyone being 100%(assumed), I'd go with:
T. Baker J. Eugene B. Barnes C. Underwood J. Washington - RS
I think it'll be a "dual-starter" thing like we did last year with Brown/Eugene, I think either could start depending on the match-up and what we wanted to do our first series. With our depth I'd be shocked to see Washington hit the field, but if he impresses the coaches enough to jump one of those top 3, then by all means, let the young man on the field, haha. 6/10/2009 1:40:22 PM |

I agree unless you have an absolute horse, you need a two back committee to have sustained success
Eugene/Baker this year with Barnes and Underwood in spurts
Then if Baker gets a 6th year, him and Barnes in 2010 6/10/2009 1:47:05 PM |

On ESPN's College Football frontpage:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/story?columnist=schlabach_mark&id=4247827
Schlabach lumps us in with Duke and UNC in saying that we have the fourth easiest ooc schedules in the FBS. While I don't disagree that we do, I find amusing that he also praises ECU for their tough non-conference schedule. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it ECU that backed out of the game with us, forcing us to schedule 2 FCS teams instead of just the 1 like we usually would? You can't have it both ways.
Oh, and Heather Dumbbitch also jumps on the bandwagon in knocking our schedule. She doesn't mention the ECU situation either.

Not saying it's a media conspiracy, but it would be nice if they would do their homework a little more diligently.
