funny how the press backfired by us making dumb decisions AFTER they turned the ball over.

gts best offense was their own turnovers.

all the credit in the world for how they finished out the season

but fuck javi for his bonehead play. that sequence alone cost us the game

i disagree, if we'd been playing better, its probably GT would have matched us

i will argue that the officiating in the last 6 minutes allowed the game to get rediculously out of hand.

Free throws killed us. Farnold was fouled. Javi should not have shot that shit.

well, at least next year looks good. The players we have coming in will be able to finish plays

javi needs competition. The reason he plays like a dumbass is because he doesnt fear losing his job. competition makes you realize that no possession is a throwaway one

how is us hitting open shots related to GT shooting better? if anything they'd have had more inbounds passes to benny hill up

favors had 6 fouls. horners awesome dunk doesn't make up for his piss poor shooting.

when javi and degand get steals they need to back up instead of trying to take on the world

Bitch please about the refs.

- FTs
- Rebounding on free throws (horner)
- inability to score off of turnovers
- guard play
- javi + nc state shit

All we had to do was let GT hang themselves. Instead, we matched them with boneheaded plays

Quote :

Wrong. it cost us 3-4 points in opportunity cost and lost time. The comeback was possible, but gt got one too many possessions

we weren't playing a press in much of the first half. i'm just saying that a team with GT's talent wouldn't allow themselves to get into a 10 point hole against a team like us.

no reason to bitch about the refs. there were a few no calls and a few questionable calls, imo, but overall, i thought it was a pretty well officiated game.

javi's foul was boneheaded, and followed by smith's foul afterward, put us in a hole we didn't need to be in.

with that being said, javi tried his damndest to make up for it and hit a pretty clutch shot at the end. I think he felt obligated to hit the game tying three as well, which is why he shot it soo soon. I'm mad at his play, but he played with heart, so I can't be too mad.

Degand, on the other hand, is pathetic at the free throw line, and should be locked in the gym until he can hit 100 in a row.

still though, the team did better than expected in the tourny, so hats off to them.

I think Georgia Tech's a dirty fucking team.

They were getting "chippy" the whole fucking game.

We shoulda forfeited at the half and just brawled.

Fuck this chippy shit.

Javi's foul led to FT's for GT and then led to them getting the ball back and an And-1 with a foul on Tracy. Just flat out dumb.

^i don't think you understand how intentional fouls work

V yes, you. they scored a point on the free through, yes. they also got the ball right back. that is not the case for regular fouls.

Me? If Javi doesn't (idiotically) intentionally foul they get a dunk. Instead they make one free throw and then get the bucket from Favors who missed the and one. Cost us one pt in hindsight, that's all I'm saying.

It cost us three points, because they scored on the ensuing possession. We happened to lose by three points.

it was dumb as shit, but at least they didn't give up.. almost tied it up, javi had a good look, and then degand got his arm raped as he was trying to get the board with no call of course.

it cost us between 3 and 1 points. it was a frustration foul and in the end while it affected the course of the game I'm not willing to crucify him for it

i think spontaneous is arguing that a "normal" foul would result in two free throws, the end of the play should have been GT taking two FTs, not a dunk

maybe, amybe not. Williams or somebody was running back and surely would have challenged him. Plus we need TOP and that gave GT an extra poss, albeit a short one

even if it only cost us "1 point," I would rather be down 2 at the end of the game than down 3 and have to force a 3 point shot. surely we can all agree on that.

we didn't play well down the stretch, we lost, but we played competitively against a team with more athletic players, hopefully we'll get an NIT bid and make some noise and get some additional experience for the youngsters

I love Lowe, but I don't understand a few things towards the end of this game

-What happened to Howell? Horner was off today. Bad
-Why not run a few more sets for Wood to get an open look? Maybe we were and he just couldn't get free. Dunno.

I'm disappointed, but this team definitely surprised me. If we make a few more free throws and if Horner hits ANYTHING all game, we probably win.

howell got his 4th foul with around 5 mins left (maybe more).

and maybe horner was kept in the final minute for his 3-pt threat?

degand had a couple nice plays, but a pretty bad game. 2/6 FTs, 0/4 from the arc and 3/9 overall. at least he only turned it over once. javi was 3/14. shitty guard play!

Guys. Quit your bitching. The team overperformed, played their hearts out, and finished the season with their head held high. As dissapointed as I am, they ended the season strong when they simply could have given up. Hopefully they'll have an opportunity to play a bit longer, but I am pleased nonetheless.

i dont want to shit on them too much since this was probably their last game and they both deserve a lot of credit for the effort theyve given us here, but a lot of our problems will be solved by degand and horner graduating

no more PFs bricking a wide open 3 with no chance of a rebound
no more shooting guard who shoots 50% FTs and cant hit an open 3 to save his life
no more wild drives to the basket with a 10% chance of conversion, 20% chance of bail out foul and 70% chance of failure

hopefully harrow and brown will be able to replace the fast break threat degand gives (and actually convert on some of them) but I worry with them both being freshmen. Durand Scott will be sick for Miami but they still sucked this year. Javi will be the big factor in whether we're actually good or a bubble team - really need more of the good heat and way less of the clownshoes

I thought Javi had a very good season, and a good game other than that one play y'all keep referring to. The whole team really picked it up for the second half of the season.
