well, the problem with the bunt is the same problem it's been the whole regional: we've been killing the opposing pitchers. When you can hit against the other team's pitcher, as evidenced by slapping the first pitch of the game into the outfield for a base hit, you don't give the other team free outs by bunting. We've scored 14 runs against them in 2 games: we shouldn't be giving them free outs

There's nothing wrong with a bunt. A sac bunt, however, is essentially going against the very goal of the game, which is not getting out. It can be tolerated with a pitcher who otherwise has a high probability of striking out or grounding in to a double play, but when you use a legitimate hitter to give up a perfectly good at bat, it's archaic and adds negative value over a year.
